The system is based on a 100-point scale, although schools can earn extra points for advanced performance on state tests and defined national tests, according to the department.

Six schools scored above 100.

The state is moving away from the School Performance Profile scores as its main school report card.

The Future Ready PA Index will launch in the 2018-19 school year.

One school district superintendent, who is quoted on the Department of Education website, said the new system will incorporate "a wider range of criteria to measure school performance such as career awareness activities, advance placement course offerings and dual enrollment opportunities with higher ed institutions."

Another superintendent suggested the School Performance Profile scores place too much emphasis on standardized tests.
