Two more chances for snow are on the way this week, but it won't be as significant as the storm that dropped 3 to 6 inches over the weekend, according to Eric Horst, director of the Weather Information Center at Millersville University .

Still, drivers will need to be cautious as a coating and cold temperatures will likely cause slippery conditions on the roads, Horst said. Because of the timing of one of the clipper systems, delays are possible for the Thursday morning commute.

Snow falls on the Susquehanna River near Columbia, Lancaster County on Saturday, December 9, 2017.

"I don't see a sign of a big one," he said.

He described the upcoming systems as a "nuisance."

The next shot of snow is expected Tuesday afternoon and evening as a cold front passes through the area. It will be similar to a summer thunderstorm. Some neighborhoods might see snow while others do not.

On Tuesday, temperatures are expected to plummet from the mid-40s around noon to the low 30s by 5 p.m.  They will drop even lower overnight, and into the upper teens by daybreak.

Another clipper system is expected to move in late Wednesday night, Horst said. That could lead to a coating of fresh snow by Thursday morning, which could cause some travel delays.

Heading into the weekend, it will remain on the cool side, he said.
