TV tonight: 'Happy' and 'Knightfall' premiere

Chris Meloni as Nick Sax on 'Happy!'

Happy!
Syfy, 10 ET/PT

Based on the graphic novel by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson, Happy! brings Law & Order: SVU star Christopher Meloni back to television with a whole new look. Meloni plays Nick Sax, a corrupt and drunk ex-cop turned hit man. After a hit gone wrong, he starts envisioning an imaginary and relentlessly peppy blue winged horse named "Happy" (voiced by Patton Oswalt) who changes his life. The dark comedy is a big swerve for Meloni, but the absurdist humor is just up Oswalt's alley, and the two make a good pair.

Knightfall
History, 10 ET/PT

History is taking another dive into scripted programming, going medieval with Knightfall, which premieres tonight. Like the channel's Vikings, Knightfall is violent and focuses on a group of historical warriors, this time putting the spotlight on the Knights Templar from the Middle Ages. Starring Tom Cullen (Downton Abbey) as the Knights' leader Landry, the series tracks the Knights on their quest for the Holy Grail.

Shut Eye
Hulu

The 10-episode second season of the crime drama arrives Wednesday on Hulu in its entirety, and Charlie (Jeffrey Donovan) and Linda (KaDee Strickland) are facing uncertainty about their future in the new episodes. Charlie attempts to free himself from Fonso (Angus Sampson), Rita (Isabella Rossellini) and Eduardo (David Zayas) while Linda mourns Gina (Emmanuelle Chriqui).
