York City Police arrested a teen early Monday morning in connection with a Sunday afternoon shooting in which a man suffered a gunshot wound to his leg, according to York City Police Capt. Troy Bankert.

Police named Temile Kahlique Faison, 16, of the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue, York, as the alleged shooter. The warrant charges him as an adult with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a minor, firearms not to be carried without a license and simple assault - with a deadly weapon.

Bankert said police arrested Faison without incident.

"We went to a residence where he was staying," Bankert said. Faison was then arraigned on the charges.

According to court dockets, Faison was placed in York County Prison on $100,000 bail and was given a preliminary hearing of Dec. 7 before District Judge James H. Morgan.

Just before 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, York County 911 received several calls that a shooting had occurred to the rear of the 200 block of Union Street, and that there was a male there suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg, the warrant states.

Once there, police spoke with the victim, Isaiah Colon, who said he and Faison were inside a home in the 200 block of Union Street when they began to argue. The warrant did not state what the argument was about.

The two walked outside, to the rear of the property, and that's when Faison pulled one of two guns he was carrying, the warrant states.

Faison shot at Colon four times with a small semi-automatic gun, while running to nearby Newberry Street. One bullet struck Colon in the leg, and a tourniquet had to be applied to control the loss of blood until he could be treated at York Hospital, the warrant states.

Hospital spokesman Dan Carrigan said Monday there was no information on a patient with Colon's name there.

Bankert said that on Sunday, Colon's injuries were non-life threatening.
