LANSING — The anticipated return of Mr. Taco in south Lansing is a step closer.

The restaurant is looking for employees who want to "be a part of a sea of smiling faces experiencing taco madness," according to a post on the restaurant's closed Facebook group.

Interested applicants can apply in person at 3122 S. Martin Luther King Blvd. in Lansing on Saturday and Sunday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Application forms will be provided. The restaurant is hiring managers, cooks, counter workers and dishwashers, according to the post.

The original Mr. Taco started in Lansing in 1967 on Logan Street and was known for its red all-meat burritos and homemade taco sauce. The last Mr. Taco restaurant closed about a decade ago.

Grand Rapids resident Bill Bonofiglo, the son of one of the founders, has been working on reopening the restaurant since April 2015.
