The Michigan Wolverines own the most talked-about defense around.

They possess the biggest stars.

But do they have the best group from top to bottom?

Because Penn State's defense continues to grow by the week, getting increasing reinforcements from younger players like defensive ends Shaka Toney and Yetur Gross-Matos.

Here's the thing: Michigan's one-dimensional offense and the ground-shaking crowd of 110,000 will only fuel Penn State's increasing strength Saturday night.

Michigan quarterback John O'Korn has struggled to throw the ball in both of his starts — a dire situation only escalating amid a deafening crowd.

Stop the Michigan running game and you stop the Michigan offense.

Penn State's Mike Gesicki carries the ball into the end zone for an 8-yard touchdown in the first half of an NCAA Division I college football game Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Beaver Stadium. Penn State defeated Pitt 33-14.

Meanwhile, expect Trace McSorley to hit a handful of big pass plays to finally loosen up Penn State's offense. Big tight end Mike Gesicki and Juwan Johnson should be the toughest match-ups.

Do that and Penn State's defense will take care of the rest. Watch for senior leaders Jason Cabinda and Marcus Allen to apply pressure, rack up tackles and force another turnover or two.

And earn a bit more respect for the defense most everyone is overlooking until now.

Bodani's prediction:
