Michigan State football jumps Michigan in AP Top 25

One week after beating its rival, Michigan State has moved past Michigan in The Associated Press' Top 25 poll.

The AP Top 25 differed quite a bit from this week's Amway Coaches Poll, as voters moved the Spartans (5-1, 3-0 Big Ten) up three spots to No. 18 this week after a 30-27 win at Minnesota. Michigan, meanwhile, dropped two spots to No. 19 following a 27-20 overtime win at Indiana.

The Coaches Poll had Michigan moving up one spot to No. 15, with Michigan State rising three spots to No. 19.

Michigan State running back LJ Scott (3) rushes around the edge past Minnesota linebacker Jonathan Celestin (13) in the second half of MSU's 30-27 win on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, in Minneapolis.

Michigan State will host Indiana on Saturday. Michigan will travel to No. 2 Penn State.

Replay: Michigan State 30, Minnesota 27

Couch: LJ Scott can be Le'Veon Bell and carry MSU, if he doesn't drop the ball

Three questions: Is MSU's late-game defense anything to worry about?
