Michigan State football in-game fan rants and raves — Michigan edition

ANN ARBOR - Fans, players and alumni from around the country sounded off online during the Spartans 14-10 win over the rival Wolverines. In this new weekly feature, LSJ rounds up the ebbs, flows and emotions of the Michigan State fan base.

Here are some rants and raves from Saturday night:

First quarter

Michael Mucci (Facebook): Spartans need to get up early, with that weather coming could get nasty quick.

Ian McHale (Facebook): The best part about being bad last year was that I didn't have mini panic attacks before each game.

SpartyHardy (Red Cedar Message Board): (Jalen Watts-Jackson) out there...no doubt as a reminder....just in case they've tried to forget.

David Thuma (Facebook): Getting shredded early, need to settle down

Garrett Mahany (Facebook): At least we held them to a field goal could've been worse. Defense just needs to settle in

SpartanPride204 (Red Cedar Message Board): First drives are usually flukes but this is quite a solid opening drive for UM

Josh Locke (Facebook): I never thought UofM would run on us this easy

Andrew Cousino (Facebook): Everybody panic!!! My goodness, we had pretty crappy field position and did anyone think they weren't going to score again? Hopefully our players keep better temperament then our fans. Stay low above the highs and stay up above the lows

Mike Gonzales (Facebook): Defense is killing it tonight. Game ball goes to the entire D

Caleb Fuhrwerk (Facebook): Almost every turnover was in their territory though. No excuse for seven points off 5 turnovers

Chris Koz (Facebook): This game is being handed to us and we aren't taking it

Mike Stoutenburg (Facebook): 0 first downs in the second half. Weather aside Warner has gone into full turtle mode again and he needs to be tarred and feathered if it bites us in the hind parts.
