1. You must balance results and relationships in order to reach your vision
This isn’t a business, it’s a ministry… Ever heard that phrase when structuring your church?
The New Testament is a performance standard manual like no other where Jesus was always pushing others to be better.
Scripture repeatedly offers two necessities – Results and Relationships. If you have strong results, but weak relationships your people will leave and your results will go away. Strong relationships in an environment going nowhere grows a weak culture and the relationships will eventually fail. You can’t have one without the other if you want to reach your vision.
2. The best leaders invest in themselves and their people
Leadership and staff development doesn’t require a big budget, but often organizations will use this as an excuse not to invest in their staff. Many churches assume it’s a waste of money and takes time away from a ministry’s main purpose. That mindset can stunt the way a church leads its people. One of the most important things a leader can do is tend to the vine by developing the army. When done right, it becomes a great investment, rather than an expense.

3. Change your approach when dealing with difficult people
Dealing with difficult people is exhausting. They always seem to have an excuse or someone else to blame in their defense. The Bible refers to these people as fools.
You can offer feedback again and again, but a fool requires a different approach in order to make a change in behavior. Change the conversation and help the fool adapt to the truth by asking: How can I make you aware of something where it will make a difference? Then clearly state: If I don’t see a difference by a specified time – there will be a consequence.
Fools must have consequences in order to change. They don’t intend to cause drama. They’re just trying to avoid responsibility and change.
