Ex-Eastern York employee to serve 6 to 23 months for child porn

A former maintenance worker at the Eastern York School District was sentenced on Thursday to serve six to 23 months in York County Prison for disseminating child pornography.

As part of a plea agreement, Common Pleas Judge Gregory M. Snyder ordered Dale Wickenheiser, 58, of Dover Township, to spend a consecutive two years on probation. He must register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law for 25 years.

Wickenheiser had admitted to downloading child pornography through a file-sharing application. He declined to make a statement.

“I don’t have anything, your honor,” said Peter Vaughn, Wickenheiser’s attorney, before the sentence was handed down. “It’s all accurate. We’re ready to proceed.”

Later, Deputy Prosecutor Alissa Cardenas read off the requirements for registering as a sex offender.

Carla Myers, director of human resources for the Eastern York School District, previously said in an email that Wickenheiser was terminated on Jan. 19, 2017.

Wickenheiser was taken into custody to start serving his sentence.
