Michigan State volleyball's scheduled match against the No. 2 Florida Gators on Friday in Gainesville has been canceled due to the approach of Hurricane Irma.

The match was scheduled for a 5 p.m. start inside Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O'Connell Center. Other Active Ankle Challenge matches, involving MSU, Florida, American, and UNC-Greensboro, were canceled earlier in the week.

The Spartans will return to East Lansing on Friday afternoon and begin preparations for next weekend's Notre Dame Shamrock Invitational in South Bend. MSU will tangle with Southern Illinois, Central Michigan, and the host Fighting Irish in the final weekend of nonconference play.
