Police: New Oxford man confesses to six armed robberies

Police arrested a man suspected of six armed robberies in a week, including one where he stole $33 from a New Oxford 7-11, according to an Eastern Adams Regional Police Facebook post.

Nathaniel W. Strasser, 21, of New Oxford was charged with each robbery, possession of a firearm and fleeing from police, according to court documents filed with District Judge Michael J. Smith.

Strasser was arrested on Aug. 24 after allegedly committing a string of armed robberies, including the New Oxford incident on Aug. 21, according to the post. The suspect in the Dauphin County robberies matched the description of the perpetrator in New Oxford.

Police arrested Strasser around 3:30 a.m. after a string of armed robberies in Dauphin County, the post stated.

Swatara Township Police Department stopped Strasser's disabled vehicle after he hit a parked construction vehicle while responding to an alleged armed robbery of a 7-11, according to the post. Strasser fled on foot and was apprehended by Lower Allen Township police.

Strasser allegedly confessed to six total armed robberies in an interview with police, the post stated.

Strasser is confined in Dauphin County prison, according to court documents. He was unable to post bail, which was set at $750,000.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 7, documents state.

An armed robbery, which occurred Monday at about 3:59 a.m. at a 7-11 in New Oxford, is under investigation, according to an Eastern Adams Regional Police news release.

A  male between 5 foot, 10 inches and 6 feet tall and about 170 pounds entered the store in the 400 block of Lincoln Way West with what appeared to be a glock semi-automatic weapon, the release states.

The clerk told police the suspect put a black backpack on the counter, pointed a small black handgun at him and asked for money, police said in the release.

The suspect was given $33. He left the store going toward Kohler Mill Road.

At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing black high tops, dark blue jeans, a black zip-up hoodie, a black mask showing only his eyes and yellow and black gloves, the release states.
