Garage damaged in York fire

Crews battle a garage fire in the 900 block of E. Philadelphia St. in York.

No one was reported injured after an electrical fire caused by a refrigerator in a York garage late Sunday night, York County 911 officials said.

The fire was reported at 10:19 p.m. at 903 E. Philadelphia St., York City Fire and Rescue Deputy Chief Chad Deardorff said. 

Crews on the scene had the fire under control before 10:40 p.m., York City Fire and Rescue officials said. There was minor damage to two cars parked in an open lot east of the scene, and minor damage to an attached garage west of the scene. 

Deardorff said the damage totaled $25,000 — $15,000 for the garage and $10,000 in content. The occupants of 903 E. Philadelphia St. experienced a power loss, but no one else was affected.
