Two men who led police on a chase Saturday that reached nearly 100 mph — and who threw drugs, a gun and money out of their getaway vehicle — are now in York County Prison, according to the York County Sheriff's Office.

The driver, Derron Terrance Burston, 38, of Baltimore, Md., and passenger Jason Beau Moody, 42, of Owings Mills, Md., face a host of charges, including possession with intent to deliver drugs, persons not to possess a firearm and recklessly endangering another person.

As of Sunday afternoon, both remained in York County Prison; Burston on $250,000 bail and Moody on $200,000 bail, according to the sheriff's office.

Although the documents deal specifically with the chase, Pennsylvania State Police say Burston and Moody "were involved in a reported robbery in the Harrisburg area." In addition, the vehicle state police say the pair were in, a red Honda Accord, matches the description of the one disclosed by police after the alleged robbery and kidnapping.

Police said on Saturday that a man in his 50s was kidnapped and robbed at gunpoint in Harrisburg and then dropped off underneath an overpass in Fairview Township by his captors, police said.

The people in the car that robbed the man then drove away. The victim, formerly of Harrisburg, walked to a nearby gas station on Limekiln Road to call 911, according to Fairview Township Police Sergeant Timothy Dehoff.

About 3 p.m., state police were notified by York County 911 that Newberry Township Police were chasing a Honda south on I-83 and that the occupants allegedly had been involved in a robbery in Harrisburg, documents state.

State police chased the Honda on the interstate, clocking it at 99 mph and saw it "weaving through traffic and came close to rear-ending several vehicles," documents state.

During the chase, bags that contained a "white powdery substance" were thrown from the Honda. A silver Smith and Wesson model 659, with one round in the chamber was also tossed, as was a large sum of money, documents state.

State troopers placed spike strips in the southbound lanes near exit 8 for Glen Rock, which deflated the right front tire, stopping the Honda. Police then arrested Burston and Moody. Inside the Honda, police seized cash and another bag of the white powdery substance, documents state.

After the two were taken to state police barracks in Loganville, Moody refused to answer questions, while Burston said he fled from police because he was smoking synthetic marijuana, documents state.
