Woman makes bomb threat, robs Haslett credit union

BATH TWP. - Bath Township Police are searching for a woman who robbed a the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union location in Haslett.

The robbery happened about 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the MSUFCU branch at 16861 Marsh Road, just south of Saginaw Highway, according to Bath Township Officer Michael Lapham.

The suspect entered the credit union and gave the teller a note indicating she would use a bomb if the teller didn't give her money.

The woman left the credit union with an undisclosed amount of money, got into the passenger side of what appeared to be a 2018 Kia Optima and left the scene.

The suspect was described as a Middle Eastern woman, approximately 60 to 70 years old, according to Bath. She was wearing a black scarf over her face, long black dress, black full frame glasses and flip flops.

The vehicle had no license plate but has a long white decal with no print running from the front driver’s side fender to the rear of the driver’s side door.

Lapham said the police department is actively collecting security footage and will be updating their Facebook page with information on the incident.

The Bath Township Police Department was assisted by Meridian Township Police Department, DeWitt Township Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office and Clinton County Central Dispatch.
