Sep 17, 2016; South Bend, IN, USA; Michigan State Spartans receiver Donnie Corley celebrates after MSU defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish 36-28 at Notre Dame Stadium.

Donnie Corley has enrolled in a new college.

The former Michigan State wide receiver from Detroit will be a student at Wayne County Community College this fall. Corley was one of three players charged in an alleged sexual assault at an apartment on MSU’s campus in January.

Corley’s attorney, John Shea, confirmed Corley’s enrollment. Messages to the school, which does not have a football team, were not returned.

Corley, 19, and former Cass Tech safety Demetric Vance, 20, are charged with third degree criminal sexual conduct. They each face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

A third player, 19-year-old defensive end Josh King, is charged with one count of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of third degree criminal sexual conduct, as well as with capturing an image of an unclothed person. He faces up to life in prison if convicted.

All three players, who were dismissed from MSU’s football program when charges were filed in June, are scheduled to have their preliminary examinations in East Lansing 54-B District Court on Sept. 21.

MORE ON DONNIE CORLEY:

A fourth former player, 19-year-old defensive end Auston Robertson, is awaiting trial on two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct, received permission from Ingham County Circuit Court to attend classes and play football at Garden City Community College this fall according to his attorney. Robertson was arrested for an alleged assault that occurred in April and was dismissed from the MSU football team after being charged. He is required to wear a GPS tether.

Corley made an immediate impact a year ago at MSU after enrolling in January 2016 as the state’s top high school player that year and one of the nation’s best wide receivers out of Detroit King.

The 6-foot-2, 186-pound wide receiver started two games and played in all 12 during his debut season last fall. Corley also played defensive back late in the season and was named to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team and earned a spot on the Football Writers Association of America’s Freshman All-America Team as an all-purpose player.

Corley’s 453 receiving yards are the most in MSU history by a true freshman, and his 33 catches are second to only running back Sedrick Irvin in 1996. His 496 all-purpose yards were third on the Spartans a year ago, and it included seven plays of 20-plus yards.
