The Biglerville fire chief estimated 30 to 35 tenants were displaced after an apartment fire on Thursday evening.

Crews were dispatched to a commercial building with apartments on 5 South Main Street in Biglerville around 5:45 p.m., Chief Chris MacBeth said.

Crews worked to contain the two-alarm fire, which originated in a third-floor apartment, MacBeth said. Firefighters from more than 15 companies responded to the scene.

State police and fire marshals determined the fire was caused by an electrical issue, MacBeth said.

Adams County Red Cross assisted at the scene to help the displaced residents.
