Computing Community Consortium Blog

The goal of the Computing Community Consortium (CCC) is to catalyze the computing research community to debate longer range, more audacious research challenges; to build consensus around research visions; to evolve the most promising visions toward clearly defined initiatives; and to work with the funding organizations to move challenges and visions toward funding initiatives. The purpose of this blog is to provide a more immediate, online mechanism for dissemination of visioning concepts and community discussion/debate about them.

NSF CISE Core Program Solicitations Released

NSF logoThree divisions at the National Science Foundation (NSF) Directorate for Computer and Information Science and Engineering (CISE) have just released new solicitations for their core programs.

Computing and Communication Foundation (CCF) 

CCF supports the following three core programs:

Proposals submitted to this solicitation must be consistent with one of two project classes defined below:

  • Small Projects
    • Total budgets up to $500,000 for durations of up to three years
    • Submission window- November 01, 2017 – November 15, 2017
  • Medium Projects
    • Total budgets up to $500,001 to $1,200,000 for durations up to four years
    • Submission window- September 20, 2017 – September 27, 2017

Information and Intelligent Systems (IIS)

IIS supports the following three core programs:

Proposals submitted to this solicitation must be consistent with one of three project classes defined below.

  • Small Projects
    • Total budgets up to $500,000 for durations of up to three years
    • Submission window- November 01 – November 15, 2017
  • Medium Projects
    • Total budgets up to $500,001 to $1,200,000 for durations up to four years
    • Submission window- September 20 – September 27, 2017
  • Large Projects
    • Total budgets up to $1,200,001 to $3,000,000 for durations of up to five years
    • Submission window- September 20- September 27, 2017

Computer and Network Systems (CNS)

CNS supports two core programs as described below:

  • Computer Systems Research (CSR)
  • Networking Technology and Systems (NeTS)

Proposals submitted to this solicitation must be consistent with one of three project classes defined below.

  • Small Projects
    • Total budgets up to $500,000 for durations of up to three years
    • Submission window- November 01 – November 15, 2017
  • Medium Projects
    • Total budgets up to $500,001 to $1,200,000 for durations up to four years
    • Submission window- September 20 – September 27, 2017
  • Large Projects
    • Total budgets up to $1,200,001 to $3,000,000 for durations of up to five years
    • Submission window- September 20- September 27, 2017
