Van Gundy more excited to see Rihanna than LeBron dunk

Andrew Joseph

The first quarter of Thursday's Game 1 of the NBA Finals was basically a LeBron James dunk contest, which was super fun.

But for ESPN analyst Jeff Van Gundy, such excitement could only be topped by seeing Rihanna walk in front of him. After James' dunk over JaVale McGee in the first quarter, Van Gundy let the whole world know that he just saw Rihanna instead of that cool dunk.

"I don't know about this, but Rihanna just walked in front of me. Are you kidding me?"

The NBA Finals is a major sporting event, which obviously brings its share of celebrities. And as we know, Van Gundy can get starstruck at times. Thursday's call was reminiscent of the time he shouted "Bey!" when he saw Beyonce sitting with Jay-Z last year.

Yeah, Jeff Van Gundy is really pumped to be at the Finals. He's doing important basketball work.
