Charges pending for several thefts in Hanover Borough

Hanover Borough Police Department is investigating several thefts from vehicles that occurred early Friday morning.

Police responded to the first block of Mt. Royal Avenue at approximately 7 a.m. for a report of two subjects entering vehicles, according to a Hanover Borough Police news release.

An 18-year-old Hanover man was detained when police arrived at the area. An investigation showed that two people were entering vehicles and stealing items from inside, the release states.

Property was recovered in the first block of Mt. Royal Avenue.

Criminal mischief and theft-related charges are pending against the 18-year-old man and a Hanover 17-year-old, the release states.

Police have identified several victims, but the department still has recovered property they believe was stolen that has not yet been claimed.

The two subjects allegedly entered vehicles parked along streets and alleys from Moul Field West to Baltimore Street. Including Moul Avenue, East Middle Street, Baer Avenue, Locust Street and York Street, the release states.

The police department asks vehicle owners in these areas who had property taken from their vehicles during this time period to contact Hanover Borough Police at 717-637-5575 or through York County 911.
