Be warned: Cops across Pa. will target seat belt laws during your commute tonight

Buckle up, Pennsylvania.

Local police departments across the state will be on the lookout for drivers and passengers who are not wearing seat belts during Monday evening's commute.

More than 40 municipal agencies in southcentral Pennsylvania will conduct traffic enforcement zones and roving patrols from 4-8 p.m., according to a news release.

This “Border to Border” seat belt enforcement operation is part of the national “Click It or Ticket” effort that runs through June 4.

“We want to send a zero tolerance message to motorists that driving or riding without a seat belt will result in a ticket, no matter the state,” Jeff Bealer, law enforcement liaison from the Buckle Up PA program, said in the news release.

More than 1,100 citations were issued for seat belt violations during last year’s Border to Border operation, the release said.

This year’s participating agencies include:

• Adams: Carroll Valley, Cumberland Township, Eastern Adams Regional
• Cumberland: Camp Hill, Carlisle, East Pennsboro, Hampden Township, Mechanicsburg, North Middleton Township, Silver Spring Township, Upper Allen Township, West Shore Regional
• Dauphin: Derry Township, Harrisburg, Lower Paxton Township, Susquehanna Township, Swatara Township
• Franklin: Washington Township
• Lancaster: Columbia, East Hempfield Township, East Lampeter Township, Lancaster, Manheim Boro, Manheim Township, Mount Joy, Northern Lancaster County Regional, Northwest Lancaster County Regional, Southern Regional, Susquehanna Regional, West Earl Township, West Hempfield Township, West Lampeter Township
• Lebanon: Lebanon City, North Cornwall Township, North Lebanon Township, South Londonderry Township
• York: Carroll Township, Hanover, Lower Windsor Township, Northeastern Regional, Springettsbury Township, West Manchester Township, York Area Regional, York City
