Rendon passes credit to team after historic game
Anthony Rendon had a decent day at the office on Sunday. And by decent, I mean absolutely bonkers.
The Nationals third baseman went 6 for 6 with three home runs and 10 RBIs (!!!). Like, that's ridiculous. He's the first player to put up that statline since 1913, according to MLB.
This was a game that really was never in doubt. The Nationals won, 23-5, but despite having every opportunity to bask in the glory of his own performance, Rendon refused. Instead, he credited his pitching staff for the solid outing.
He said:
"Our pitching was just amazing. They kept them down to five runs, so as long as we scored six, all we had to do was win."

If that wasn't an all-time humble answer, I don't know what is.
Rendon knocked in 10 runs on his own, and he opted to congratulate his pitching staff on holding the Mets to five runs in an 18-run game. Now, that's humility.
But … c'mon, Anthony, take the credit! Your teammates will understand.
