This is a mining town – Coulsontown – in Peach Bottom Township. The Welsh were not the first settlers of this area, hugging the Mason-Dixon Line and bordered by the broad Susquehanna River. But the Welsh influence from the era that they worked the slate quarries in the mid-1850s to about World War I remains in the region. The Old Line Museum in Delta/Peach Bottom is restoring some of the cottages in this old quarrymen's village.
