Two arrested in West York stabbing

UPDATE: Jan. 19, 2018:

Prosecutors dropped the charges of attempted first-degree murder and related offenses against Jonathan Kirsch, 26, of West Manchester Township. He pleaded guilty to intentionally possessing a controlled substance, which was marijuana, according to court records.

Logan Hale, 27, of West York, was found guilty on Thursday of attempted first-degree murder, according to court records.

West York Police have charged a pair of county men in the stabbing of a man early Friday morning, officials said in a press release.

Logan Hale, 26, of West York and John Kirsch, 25, of West Manchester Township, have been arrested and charged with criminal attempt to commit homicide, aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

Around 1 a.m. on Friday, police were dispatched to the 1500 block of W. Poplar Terrace on a disturbance call. Upon arriving, they found a 33-year-old man with severe life-threatening stab wounds to his torso. He was transported to York Hospital where he underwent numerous surgeries and is currently in stable condition, police said.

5 days after York homicide, calls to end violence

Early Sunday morning, police arrested Hale at his home on West King Street in West York, officials said. Evidence linking Hale to the stabbing was found in the residence, police said.

Kirsch turned himself in later on Sunday, police said.

Police released a photo of Hale on Sunday, but did not release a photo of Kirsch.
