Detroit police are seeking tips to locate two suspects wanted in connection with robberies at Family Dollar stores on the west side this month.

Both incidents were reported between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. Jan. 8 in the 15000 block of West Seven Mile and the 12600 block of Dexter, investigators said in a statement Friday.

“In both incidents, the suspects approached the cashiers at the registers and demanded money,” the release read.

At the second location, the security guard “drew his firearm and scared off the suspects,” police said.

Authorities on Friday released surveillance images of the pair to spur tips.

One of the suspects is described as an African-American man, age 21-24, 5-foot-7, 150 pounds, with a light complexion and dark curly hair. The other suspect is described as an African-American female, age 24, 5-foot-5, 130 pounds, with a light complexion.

The other suspect is described as an African-American female, age 24, 5-foot-5, 130 pounds, with a light complexion. She wore a black hooded sweatshirt, red jogging pants and a black half mask.

They are believed to have been driving a black Ford Escape at the time, Crime Stoppers said.
