A Southwestern Regional Police officer and the driver of another vehicle suffered minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash Monday night in Spring Grove, according to Police Chief Greg Bean.

"I think everyone's going to be able to heal from their injuries; that's the real good news here," Bean said Tuesday morning.

Bean said his officer, Stuart Harrison, was treated at York Hospital and later released. He was not certain if the other driver was medically treated, or the extent of that treatment.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Sprenkle Road and Route 116 at 7:15 p.m., officials said. On Tuesday morning, fresh damage could be seen at the intersection, including vehicle debris and tire marks that appeared to lead to a house nearby. No one was at the house that morning.

Bean said since the crash was "substantial" in terms of damage and involved a department vehicle, per protocol, he asked Northern York County Regional Police to investigate.

The chief deferred questions about how the crash occurred and the name of the other driver to Northern Regional. No one was available to speak about the case at Northern on Tuesday.
