Battle Creek Enquirer

In recognition of National Day of Racial Healing, residents are invited to a demonstration that will be held between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, that will involve participants “standing and walking at intersections, parking lots, busy streets, etc. in holding heart-shaped signs (to be provided) to remind people that love is the foundation for all good things,” said a news release from the Battle Creek Community Foundation. For more information on the demonstration, call 269-832-2824.

Additionally, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Kellogg Community College Center for Diversity and Innovation will facilitate a discussion on the need for racial healing at the Kool Family Community Center, 200 W. Michigan Ave. The release said feedback received from the session will inform community work going forward.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information or to become involved, call 269-565-2123.
