Dolphins' Matt Moore has no hard feelings after huge hit by Steelers' Bud Dupree

USA TODAY Sports
Miami Dolphins quarterback Matt Moore (8) prepares to throw the ball against the Pittsburgh Steelers during the first half in the AFC Wild Card playoff football game at Heinz Field.

Matt Moore wasn't out for long despite taking a violent hit in Sunday's AFC wild-card playoff game.

The Miami Dolphins quarterback returned to action in the second quarter after taking a hit from Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree. Moore remained on the ground before leaving the field with trainers.

Dupree was called for roughing the passer on the play. Players scuffled afterward, and Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi drew an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty in the aftermath.

"I just got popped," Moore told reporters after the game. "I just needed a second there. It was more my jaw than anything else. He got me pretty good.

"I didn't have any bad feelings toward (Dupree). Sometimes that happens."

Moore missed just one play, with T.J. Yates coming in to replace him, before coming back into the game. The Dolphins scored a field goal on the drive, but Miami came up short in a 30-12 loss to Pittsburgh.

Moore completed 29 of 36 passes for 289 yards and a touchdown, but he had three interceptions (two lost fumbles, one interception). Moore had taken over the starting role as Ryan Tannehill continues to recover from sprained knee ligaments.
