GRAND FORKS, N.D. – A three-point night from freshman defenseman Jerad Rosburg helped the Michigan State hockey team top fifth-ranked North Dakota, 4-3, on Friday night at Ralph Engelstad Arena in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Trailing 1-0, the Spartans scored four unanswered goals, including two by Rosburg in the opening period. Connor Wood made it 3-1 in the second and Joe Cox upped the MSU lead to 4-1 early in the third on the power play.

The Spartans (4-6-0) withstood heavy pressure from North Dakota in the third as two goals by Tyson Jost in a span of 31 seconds made it a 4-3 game.

Ed Minney made 30 saves as the Spartans got their first win at North Dakota since February 1979.

The two teams will meet again at 8 (ET) Saturday night.
