Lansing State Journal columnist Graham Couch and Detroit Free Press / LSJ MSU beat writer Chris Solari predict the Spartans’ game Saturday night at Indiana.

GRAHAM COUCH: There are several differences between the football programs at Wisconsin and Indiana. Above all: The Badgers don't beat themselves; the Hoosiers usually do. Indiana's 33-28 loss to Wake Forest last week is a perfect example. Hoosiers QB Richard Lagow threw for a school-record 496 yards. He also turned the ball over five times. The Hoosiers have the horses and uptempo system to test MSU's defense. They have many times before. If they don't turn the ball over, this will be an interesting game in the fourth quarter. It might be anyway. The Spartans would be wise to get their offense rolling and score at least 35 points. Another difference between Wisconsin and Indiana — defense. Make it: MSU 37, Indiana 31

CHRIS SOLARI: The depleted Spartans’ defense will be challenged by Indiana’s breakneck pace, with the losses of Reschke and potentially Bullough allowing Lagow and the Hoosiers to exploit the middle of the field. However, MSU bends and doesn’t break, in part because the offense returns to running the ball more frequently to control the clock. Make it: MSU 27, Indiana 21
