Rail union endorses Bizon in 62nd race
The Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen has endorsed Rep. John Bizon's re-election bid.
"I am deeply grateful for their support," Bizon said in a news release Tuesday. "I admire these hard-working union members who keep our rail system — and our economy — moving forward in this great state. Michigan depends on their skill and commitment to safety in rail transportation."
Bizon, R-Battle Creek, currently holds the 62nd state House District seat. His campaign said he's so far the only incumbent Republican to be endorsed by the Rail Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
Bizon faces Democrat Jim Haadsma, a Calhoun County commissioner, in the November election. Libertarian Michelle Gregoire also is running.
