Three people — a juvenile and two adults — were struck by gunfire in York in two separate shootings over the weekend, according to York City Police Lt. Troy Bankert.

Pair plotted to dispose of body after shooting, cops say

The first shooting occurred at 9:48 p.m. on Friday, when a 16-year-old male was struck by gunfire while at the intersection of East King and South Sherman streets.

"The victim was uncooperative," Bankert said. "He had nothing to say to the cops."

The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to York Hospital by a privately owned vehicle.

The second shooting happened just before 6:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 200 block of West College Avenue, following a "verbal dispute," Bankert said.

Two victims, Heriberto Colon-Rivera, 24, and Keyla Colon-Rivera, 21, both of York, were taken to York Hospital by a privately owned vehicle. Bankert said he believed the two were related, although he was not sure how.

Bankert said Keyla Colon-Rivera suffered a small cut on the left side of her head, which may have been a grazing wound by a bullet. Heriberto Colon-Rivera was struck by a bullet in his right side.

Both were treated at York Hospital and released, according to a hospital spokeswoman on Monday.

It was not known who shot them, he said, adding that the injuries were non-life-threatening.

"They spoke with us, they told us what had occurred," and detectives plan to follow-up with them, Bankert said.

There now have been 64 shooting victims in York since Dec. 1, according to the York Daily Record, based on information from York City Police and York County 911.

In December 2015, there were a total of 12 people shot. Since Jan. 1, 52 people have been shot.
