Man, 20, arrested for Woodrow home invasion

A Battle Creek man sustained a head injury Thursday night and a woman was arrested following a shooting.

A 20-year-old Battle Creek man was arrested early Saturday after police said he broke into a home and stole two vehicles.

Police said the man broke into a house in the 100 block of South Woodrow Avenue shortly before 5:17 a.m. Personal property also was reported stolen.

When officers located and approached one of the cars shortly after the incident, the 20-year-old suspect got out of the vehicle and fled on foot. He was arrested after a short chase and taken to Calhoun County Jail for home invasion and resisting arrest.

The second vehicle also was recovered.
