The Titans agreed to terms with first-round draft pick Jack Conklin, the team announced Monday morning.

Conklin was selected out of Michigan State with the eighth overall pick and is expected to start the season at right tackle. He also practiced at left tackle during the team’s recent rookie minicamp.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Conklin signed a four-year contract, like all first-round picks, that includes a team option for a fifth season. It is expected to be worth nearly $16 million, including a nearly $10 million signing bonus, according to the slotted value of the contract on the NFL’s rookie wage scale.

The 6-foot-6, 308-pound Conklin began his four-year collegiate career as a walk-on at Michigan State and ended with All-America honors. He started 38 of 39 games – 35 of them at left tackle, three at right tackle – and in his final season helped the Spartans win the Big Ten and secure a berth in the College Football Playoff.

The Titans have agreed to terms with eight of their 10 draft picks.

Second-round outside linebacker Kevin Dodd of Clemson and third-round safety Kevin Byard of MTSU remain the team’s only unsigned draft picks.

The first day of organized team activities is Tuesday. Conklin has been participating in the Titans’ offseason workout program the last few weeks.
