Michigan State receiver Aaron Burbridge tries to fend off Alabama cornerback Bradley Sylve in the second half of the Cotton Bowl on Dec. 31 in Arlington, Texas. MSU lost 38-0, the game getting out of hand after an interception prevented the Spartans from going into halftime trailing 10-7.

Former Michigan State wideout Aaron Burbridge signed a four-year rookie contract with the San Francisco 49ers on Friday.

Burbridge was selected in the sixth round of last week’s NFL Draft, going to the 49ers with the 213th pick. CSNBayArea.com reported the deal is worth $2.395 million, with a $100,356 signing bonus.

The 6-foot, 206-pound Farmington Hills native caught a Big Ten-leading 85 passes for 1,258 yards and seven touchdowns. Burbridge won the conference Receiver of the Year award, earned first-team All-Big Ten honors and was named the Spartans’ team MVP in 2015.

Burbridge is the first of the five Spartans taken in the draft to sign a contract. Tennessee selected left tackle Jack Conklin in the first round with the No. 8 overall pick, Oakland took defensive end Shilique Calhoun in the third round and quarterback Connor Cook in the fourth round, and San Diego picked offensive lineman Donavon Clark in the seventh round.
