Michigan State basketball could use at least another forward. UNLV graduate transfer Ben Carter would fit the bill.

UNLV transfer Ben Carter has scheduled visits to Michigan State, Arizona, Arizona State, NC State and Miami, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

The 6-foot-9 forward has scheduled visits for Arizona, Arizona State, MSU, NC State and Miami, according to ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Carter averaged 8.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 24.0 minutes per game last season for the Rebels. The Las Vegas native played his first two seasons at Oregon (2012-14), but averaged just more than 10 minutes per game.

Carter would be eligible right away as a graduate transfer for the 2016-17 season.

The Spartans, who have three open scholarship spots, need immediate depth at forward. They lost forwards Marvin Clark Jr. and Javon Bess to transfer earlier this off-season, and freshman Deyonta Davis declared for the NBA draft a week ago.

MSU also lost departing seniors Denzel Valentine, Bryn Forbes, Matt Costello and Colby Wollenman. But it will add possibly its best recruiting class of the Tom Izzo era, including guards Cassius Winston and Joshua Langford, along with forwards Miles Bridges and Nick Ward.
