NHL unveils rendering for Red Wings-Avs outdoor game

Want a glimpse of what the NHL Stadium Series game between the Colorado Avalanche and Detroit Red Wings could look like?

While the outdoor match-up at Coors Field is still weeks away, the NHL unveiled an architectural rendering of the Colorado Rockies baseball stadium converted into a hockey rink on Thursday.

The game will be played on Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. There will also be a special alumni game featuring roughly 50 former Avalanche and Red Wings players on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m.
