EAST LANSING - Purdue freshman power forward Caleb Swanigan is doing well this season, and so is Michigan State freshman power forward Deyonta Davis.

Caleb Swanigan decommited from Michigan State, per Scout.com and ESPN.com.

They were supposed to be coming to MSU together in the spring after Swanigan committed to Tom Izzo's program, but then he dropped that commitment and switched to Purdue. Izzo reiterated today before the teams' only meeting this season: "There was never any hard feelings."

In fact, Izzo said, he called Purdue coach Matt Painter the night Swanigan picked Purdue and let him know exactly that.

"There will be no, 'Let's go beat Purdue because of Biggie,'" Izzo said, referencing Swanigan's nickname. "We want to beat Purdue because we want to beat Purdue."

Davis and Swanigan will guard each other often in what Izzo called a "great matchup" when the No. 10 Spartans (20-4, 7-4 Big Ten) and No. 18 Boilermakers (19-5, 7-4) meet Tuesday at Mackey Arena (7 p.m., ESPN).
