EAST LANSING -- Michigan State made late runs at two high-profile players at a high-need position, but both decided today to go elsewhere.

The official Auburn football account announced the signing of Prince Sammons, a defensive end from Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. MSU made a late push for the 6-foot-8 Sammons, who also could play offensive tackle in college.

And Rivals.com reported that defensive end Karamo Dioubate of Philadelphia had dropped MSU from his list of finalists. MSU also got in late on the former Penn State commitment, who was down to South Carolina and Temple at the end, according to Rivals.com.
