Armed robbery reported in Athens
ATHENS - Police are searching for a man who robbed an Athens gas station Tuesday.
A clerk working at the Athens Shell Service Station at 126 N. Capital Ave. in Athens was robbed at 3:02 a.m., according to Detective Carter Bright of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Tribal Police.
The man entered the store displaying a small, semi-automatic handgun and took an undisclosed amount of cash, Bright said. The clerk was not hurt.
A tracking dog from the Battle Creek Police Department followed a scent for a short distance, Bright said, to a point at which the robber apparently got in a vehicle.
