Police: Woman, 62, dies after being struck by bus

Alma — Police say a 62-year-old woman has died after being struck by a bus in mid-Michigan.

State police say Mildred Griffith of Alma was struck Tuesday night by the Alma Transportation Center bus in Alma after the bus picked up a passenger.

The bus was moving slowly at the time. Police say Griffith was taken to a hospital, where she died.

The cause of the crash wasn’t immediately released, but police say alcohol, speed and weather conditions aren’t believed to be factors.
