Much has been made of Bushnell's latest offering being very much novel imitating life. The central character, Pandy wrote a book which was turned into a film which took off in a way she'd never quite expected. Swap the 'P' for a 'C' and the film for a runaway success of an HBO TV series, and suddenly everything seems a little closer to an autobiography. Bushnell denies it to the hilt but somehow trying to work out whether Burshnell's talking about the 'fictional' Sonya or the real-life SJP is almost as enjoyable as this romp of a read itself...
