Bri2018 was too much to try and boil down into a short summary. I guess I'll try listing it out anyway? Long distance boyfriend moved to North Carolina to be with me and we discussed wanting to get married soon after My heart failure took a turn for the worse and I was hospitalized in August/September Doctors at Wake Forest Baptist in Winston Salem wanted me to consider either an LVAD (left ventricular device that circulates blood in place of the heart beating) or a heart transplant Turns out the heart transplant was more favorable for me, as I'm type...

BriIt's funny–or maybe ironic, but I honestly always feel like Alanis Morissette's Ironic, where everything is said to be ironic but actually isn't–that what brought me back to my blog is the very thing I last posted about in November. In my last post, I showed the locks from Clementine, a BFL + Romney + Finn cross. They were creamy and gorgeous and so lovely in my hand. I remember hemming and hawing over whether I should dye them or not, but I went ahead and jumped in on the idea of dyeing them. The result is what you see...

BriA few months ago I purchased 8 ounces worth of locks from a shop on Etsy called FarmSpun, based in Middleton, TN. The locks came from a sheep named Clementine, and she's a BFL + Romney + Finn cross. The locks were beautiful! A creamy white, with gorgeous lock structure. I didn't really know what I was going to do with it, so for a week or two I just admired and squished them all in the bag they arrived in. After sharing on Instagram, and talking with some friends, I decided to dye the locks and then flick them...

BriI thought I already did this! Wow. Okay, here we go. Yarn and fiber clubs have all been received, and June's colorway was Summer Evenings of Longing and Fireflies. Possibly my favorite colorway thus far, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. Both the yarn and the fiber were dyed on MCN bases (80/10/10 merino, cashmere, nylon), which means all luxury, all the time. June Yarn Club - Summer Evenings of Longing and Fireflies And here's the fiber club! I've enjoyed seeing this spun up so far, and hopefully I'll be able to share photos of it in the near...

BriThere are projects finished that need blocking, but I'd rather not. Ever feel that way? Like it was a struggle to get yourself to finish the thing, and now it just needs to be put away, out of sight, until you randomly happen upon it at a later date. Maybe that time apart allows the negative feelings to flit away, leaving room for you to fall in love with it all over again; and all you have to do at that point is block and wear it. I feel that way. A lot. And maybe about yarn things in general....
