Kevin Lee Dick “Swivel” 60 of Rossville, Kansas passed December 14, 2022 from an accidental choking incident while celebrating in Ft. Worth, TX with his wife Julie and friends.
Kevin was born December 13, 1962 to Wayne G. Dick and Dianne (Gideon) Dick of Rossville, Kansas. He graduated from Rossville High School in 1981 where he played football, wrestled, and track. He attended Kansas State University and Cloud County Community College. Kevin returned to the family farm at Rossville, farming with his dad and brother, Scott Dick, to this day(Dick Farms). Kevin was also the assistant wrestling coach at Rossville High School. Along the way he joined the Kansas Free Masons at Rossville, Ks, later transferring to Topeka Lodge Number 17. He also joined the Scottish Rite and was a member of the Arab Shrine Temple of Topeka, KS for some years. Kevin was a member of the American Legion Riders – Post 31. Kevin married high school sweetheart and love of his life Julie Marie Barker of Silver Lake, KS on May 25, 1996. Julie is the daughter of Larry (Terry) Barker of Topeka, KS and Judy (Lindstrom) Barker of Silver Lake, KS. Julie survives in their home at Rossville, KS.
Kevin is survived by his parents Wayne G. Dick and Dianne E. (Gideon) Dick, brother Scott W. Dick (his wife Kelly (Stewart) Dick and sons Ryan S. Dick and Cody W. Dick his wife Sonia (Shaddox) Dick – children Payton Shaddox, Karly S. Dick and Maverick W. Dick), sister Jayne D. Dick-Lobatos (her husband Guillermo Lobatos – sons Loren M. Lobatos-Dick, Landen L. Lobatos-Dick, and Lawsen J. Lobatos-Dick) Cousins: Rodney W. Dick (children Laci J. Foster and Ashley K. Hoss), Randy Dick (his wife Karen – children Dustin Dick, Melissa Horgan, Derek Dick, Hailey Marple), Jeff Dick (wife Heidi – daughters Sydney Tracy and Kaitlyn Dick) Jennifer L. (Dick) Hutton (husband Justin Hutton – children Kelby Murray, Paxton Olivas, Romyn Hutton, and Max Hutton) Shawn R. Gideon (wife Renee – children Shanee Askren and Gentry Gideon) Johnaka (Maike) McCosker and Hunter Maike. Aunts: DeAnn (Sump) Gideon and Sheryl (Perry) Dick, as well as many extended family and friends too numerous to count.
Kevin is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Benjamin O. Dick and Lorena (Ellwood) Dick, maternal grandparents Garland R. Gideon and Viola (Kovar) Gideon, Uncle Gary L. Dick, Uncle Arnold R. Gideon, Cousin-in-law Connie (Eckert) Dick, Cousins Jackie (Gideon) Maike, Jordan Maike, and Garen Gideon.
Kevin did everything “Wide Open”. He lived, loved, laughed, worked, played, and fought intensely. If you were his friend you knew it. He was a proud farmer his whole life. “Those rows better be straight and fields weed free.” He had a passion for sprint car racing from the age of 9 when he fell in love with the sport at the Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, IA. Since then he has followed Sammy Swindell and other favorites across the Midwest gathering close friends from far and wide. Kevin never met a stranger and often gave to those in need. In the true spirit of giving Kevin was an organ donor. Many people will be helped by his selfless gift. He will continue to help others even in his absence. Kevin loved his toys with a throttle and was a kid at heart. He liked to go fast and have fun. Gone too soon but not forgotten.

Beverley was born Friday, April 11, 1952 in Elmhurst, Illinois to the late Sievert and Leona Bus. She attended and graduated from York Community High School. She loved gardening, sailing, snorkeling and scuba diving in the Caribbean with her husband Terry. Beverley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all of us.
Beverley is preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Bailey Zander.

Justin was born Wednesday, October 19, 1988 to Charles Wayne Sawyer and Vicki Lee Mabry in Fort Worth, Texas. He loved working out, watching movies, fishing, playing domino’s , his cat, George and spending time with family and friends. Justin will surely be missed by all of us and will remain in our hearts forever.

FORT WORTH-John Peter Nichols Jr. passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 at the age of 77.
INTERMENT: John will be laid to rest with a military burial at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211 on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 1 p.m.

John was born Thursday, January 25, 1945 to the late John Peter Nichols, Sr. and Stella Ann (Rozycki) Nichols in Great Bend, Kansas. Before attending college, John boarded from 9th through 12th grade at and then graduated from The Peddie School, Hightstown, NJ. He held a BA in Political Science from Columbia University, New York, NY. He also held an MA in Public Administration from The University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND.
John was an award winning, versatile professional with over 30 years of first hand management experience in all aspects of integrated marketing and communications. He was widely respected for his strong organizational, leadership, communication and team building skills. He was an accomplished trainer, mentor and motivator.
John created and headed The Nichols Group BSC, a privately held, independent marketing consultancy providing experienced, senior level counsel in branding, strategy and communications to establish corporations, dynamic emerging businesses and agencies seeking to gain competitive advantage through the use of integrated marketing.
Prior to forming The Nichols Group, he was SVP, Group Director of Account Services and a member of the Agency Operating Committee at Bozell Temerlin McClain in Dallas. There he oversaw a $200+million portfolio of accounts including NationsBank (now Bank of America), JCPenney and GTE/Verizon, in addition to being General Manager of Temerlin McClain Direct.
Over the course of his career, Nichols, had consumer and tactical experience on such products as Blue Coral, Dial, Nestle, Pfiser, Ivory Bar Soap, Quaker State, Warner Lambert, Hallmark, Beneficial, Nations Bank, Visa, Citibank, AT&T, DeBeers and Symantec.
Agencies and corporations he worked for included Compton, Proctor and Gamble, NW Ayer, Beneficial, Symantec, Rare Medium, Counterpane, Bozell Temerlin McClain, Bell Helicopter, QLM Associates and Frankel & Company.
He was recognized with a charter listing in Who’s Who in Advertising. He was the winner of 8 Gold EFFIE awards and 3 Silver EFFIE awards for marketing performance and creative excellence in addition to being a two time EFFIE Award Judge.
Nichols was a former U.S. Air force B-52 pilot and a decorated combat veteran.
John loved playing and watching football, golf, flying airplanes, sports cars, reading, writing, history, politics and mostly his children and their interests. He tended and saw after his mother for the last 18 years of her life until she passed away in 2008 at the age of 103.

Daniel “Danny” Warren Preston, Sr., beloved father and “Papaw”, passed peacefully from this world on Friday, December 2nd, 2022 in Watauga, Texas. He was 79 years old.
Danny Preston was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on August 9th, 1943. He was always a hard-working man; he learned early in life that it took hard work to make a dollar. As a child, he sold bars of soap from house to house, and he worked at the Muskogee Country Club as a caddy, hauling golf bags that were as big as he was! He was very talented in swimming and swam on the YMCA swimming team. He also played basketball & football in Jr. High School. He played the coronet at Alice Robertson Jr. High School, and Central High School. He quit school at Muskogee Central High School, where he was in the DE Program and joined the Navy in the 11th grade. He was Man of the Month in the Navy and attended both A & B Electronics Schools, later becoming an electronics instructor in the Navy. Danny served aboard the US Kearsarge at the beginning of the Viet Nam War in a helicopter squadron that picked up wounded soldiers and transported them to his ship.
Danny’s only child, a son, was born in 1968 right before Danny was honorably discharged from the Navy to attend the University of Tennessee. He and his family settled in North Richland Hills, Texas where he resided for the last several decades of his life. He retired from American Airlines in November of 2012 after over 20 years. Danny loved fishing, hunting, and cooking.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Nimrod Buster Preston and Frances Ercell Worrell Preston; and his beloved wife of 52 years, Alice Faye Huitt Preston.
He is survived by his only child and son Daniel Warren Preston, Jr.; grandson Kelly Duane Preston; granddaughter, Courtney Frances Preston Carter; and great-grandchildren Joseph Allen Preston, Savannah Leann Preston, Kelly Duane Preston Jr., and Lyra Faye Carter.
Danny was a generous, loving man with a wonderful sense of humor who dedicated his life to providing for every member of his family. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Services will be held at Brown Owens & Brumley, 425 S. Henderson Street at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 7th.

Quint was born Thursday, November 8, 1962 to Douglas Powell Johnson and Mary Esther Johnson in Chicago, Illinois. He attended and graduated from Midland High School, Class of 1985. He worked at Kohl’s Department Store as a sales associate, Expanco, Inc. as an assembly line worker and at Tarrant County Food Bank as a courtesy clerk. Quint loved working crossword puzzles, playing basketball, watching game shows on TV, reading the Bible, watching musical themed movies, singing and attending religious services. He loved his family gatherings, eating, road trips, and was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan. He also loved talking on the phone to his family and friends. The Johnson family wishes to express their deepest thanks and gratitude to Accepting Hands and Guardianship Services for the amazing care given to Quint. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Quint is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Johnson; and sister, Renee Johnson.

Mary was born Wednesday, July 10, 1935 to the late Robert and Martha Erwin in Argyle, Texas. She attended and graduated from Denton High School, Class of 1955. Mary retired from Otis Engineering after 25 years of dedicated service. She loved quilting, playing bingo, bowling and dogs. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend and will be missed.

FORT WORTH-Sherry Alice Byford Keller passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022 at the age of 70.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Bethany Christian Church, 1500 Meadow Park Dr., White Settlement, Texas 76108
Sherry was born Wednesday, August 6, 1952 to the late Graden Byford and Wilma Gene Altom Barbee in Fort Worth, Texas. Sherry was Christian and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She enjoyed the outdoors and took her children camping and fishing. She would often rescue stray animals, she loved horseback riding, raising goats and was exceptional at gardening and raising plants. She attended Lee High School in Midland, Texas.
She worked a myriad of careers in he life including being a drug and alcohol counselor but her favorite job was as an associate producer for a children’s TV show on KTVT Channel 11 in the late 80’s.
SURVIVORS: Sister, Ann Robbins; son, James Byford; son, Christopher Green; son, Jesse Verhoeven; daughter, Jennifer Keller; and 7 grandchildren.

Adam Hasley, passed on November 1st, 2022. He was born to Lisa Simmons and David Hasley on May 19th, 1992. Adam was an incredible man. He traveled the world, conquered mountains, yet was always there, almost magically, when trouble came and his presence was needed. Having his Masters from Harvard was more of a trophy for him, as there was never a doubt of his extremely high intelligence to anyone who knew him. A man known for his devotion to his family and friends and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his parents; Lisa and Joe Simmons and David and Katrina Hasley, his siblings; Leah and Andrew Douthit, Bryan and Claire Hasley, Laura and Matt Teel, Ransom Simmons, and JD and Regan Hasley, his grandparents; Wyletta Brown, Juanice Simmons, John and Lynda Horn, and Bernard and Trana Simmons, his nieces and nephews; Jake Teel, Brylee Simmons, Savannah Douthit, and Hunter and Hallie Hasley.
He is preceded in death by his brother Brandon Simmons, his grandfather Bobby Simmons, and his Pa, Ronald Brown.
