States whose Conservation Districts receive a reasonable level of States operational funding are able to help deliver more financial and programmatic assistance to farmers and landowners/operators, not just in partnership with the USDA NRCS but from many other public and private sources as well. Grants which many times are poorly funded and short in duration do not provide the type of assistance that builds trust and effectiveness. They also do not encourage employees to stay for the long term and to become more proficient in their duties. Underfunding of Conservation Districts puts Michigan at a distinct disadvantage in the effort to address natural resource concerns affecting our soil, water, animals, plants and air. Michigan cannot meet its environmental goals without a strong, locally led conservation delivery system.

She is working in Wisconsin in an area that she is concerned that will not be deemed ‘rural’ ‘underserved’. Please help fight to ensure all large animal vets in WI qualify for this benefit.
This is standard, garden variety anti-renewable baloney that is decades old, but with a new twist about soil contamination from solar farms. I can assure you that these potato farmers are in the tank for tRump and are simply finding a way to parrot the anti-renewable party line. Wherever this was published should in the spirit of debate and democracy allow the proponents of solar to make their case. Will that happen? Doubtful at best..........

Ever since I participated in the EPA Press Conference 15 years ago that announced their approval of E15 (and inadvertently E20), my company and I have been campaigning for its availability at service stations. Naturally, there has been a continuous effort by the oil industry to stymie blends higher than E10. But, what I have found to be the biggest problem are the major ethanol associations themselves (including NCGA), who have done very, very little to make E15 - and higher - a reality. Farmers and other individual entities have contributed untold millions of dollars to the associations' "lobbying efforts" and have received almost nothing in return. I'm sorry if this offends my friends at the associations, but it's true. They've been playing patty cake too long.

Ever since I participated in the EPA Press Conference 15 years ago that announced their approval of E15 (and inadvertently E20), my company and I have been campaigning for its availability at service stations. Naturally, there has been a continuous effort by the oil industry to stymie blends higher than E10. But, what I have found to be the biggest problem are the major ethanol associations themselves (including NCGA), who have done very, very little to make E15 – and higher – a reality. Farmers and other individual entities have contributed untold millions of dollars to the associations’ “lobbying efforts” and have received almost nothing in return. I’m sorry if this offends my friends at the associations, but it’s true. They’ve been playing patty cake too long.
