I’ve been checking the website for TheGiftCardShop.com for the past couple of weeks as I’d expected them to run a similar grad-related promotion. I’m wondering if there was some kind of caching issue because it seems strange that they’d launch this sale recently and give it an expiry date of May 27, so perhaps it’s been around for the last fortnight like those other aforementioned sites.

Quick Thoughts

Although you inevitably earn more rewards the more you spend, you actually get a better return on your spend at the lowest threshold. Our Reasonable Redemption Value for IHG points is 0.59 cents per point, so that’s the value we’ll use for the following calculations:

• Spend $10K+ & earn 120,000 bonus points worth $708 (i.e. 7.08% return)
• Spend $20K+ & earn 180,000 bonus points worth $1,062 (i.e. 5.31% return)
• Spend $30K+ & earn 240,000 bonus points worth $1,416 (i.e. 4.72% return)
• Spend $40K+ & earn 300,000 bonus points worth $1,770 (i.e. 4.43% return)

Those amounts aren’t going to make it worth booking a destination wedding just for the sake of it. However, if you were planning on having one anyway, it might be worth considering an IHG location in order to earn a substantial number of bonus points.

Be sure to note that this offer is only available at select properties in the US, Canada, and the Caribbean. The landing page lists a whole bunch of hotels and resorts worldwide including the Maldives, Rome, and more, but those are displayed in relation to redeeming the points you’ll earn for your honeymoon.

Quick Thoughts

These Breeze Airways promos have the potential to be good money-savers, but be aware that the promo code only offers a discount on the base fare. Taxes and fees sometimes make up a substantial amount of a paid Breeze ticket, so your actual savings won’t be quite as large as the headline rate.

Savings are savings though, and Breeze flies a number of routes not served by any other airline, so this sale can make those nonstop routes even more appealing.

Unlike other airlines like Southwest, where you enter the promo code before doing your search and the search results display the lower pricing immediately, you don’t enter the promo code on Breeze’s website until the final payment screen. You’re therefore not able to see the discount until the final stage after clicking through the various upsell options (e.g., seat assignment, checked bags, etc.). It could therefore be easy to forget to enter the promo code at that late stage.

Quick Thoughts

There was a similar Amex Offer for Caesars Rewards that expired on May 24, so it was good to see this identical offer appear the day after for those whose stay hadn’t occurred yet.

Along with gift card purchases, the terms of this Amex Offer excludes pool, lounges, bars, and other amenities. However, if you can charge any of those to your room rather than paying directly, those charges should count towards the $200 spending threshold.

If you have this Amex Offer on two or more cards in your household and you’ll be spending $400+ on a rate where you pay at the property, you can ask the front desk to split the cost of the stay across two or more cards in order to earn a total of $80 cashback or more.

Caesars Rewards is on many shopping portals, so be sure to click through from one of those in order to earn additional rewards on your stay.

Past JetBlue Citi Offers have only required $200 of spend, so this latest version requires twice that amount.

What’s not entirely clear is if cumulative purchases count, or if it has to be $400 spent in a single transaction. If it’s the latter, that’s a shame. That’s because if you were to book, say, flights for two people that cost $200 per person, if JetBlue charges those amounts separately then it might not trigger the statement credit from this offer.

Doctor of Credit lists this latest offer as requiring $500 of spend, so it’s worth checking the details of your offer if you’re planning on using it to ensure you’re spending the right amount.

Quick Thoughts

Our Reasonable Redemption Value for Choice Privileges points is 0.75c per point, which would make this offer worth about $450. That’s a solid return on just $1,000 spend on a card with no annual fee. If you’re able to cherry pick higher-value Choice redemptions, you can do even better.

That said, keep in mind that Wells Fargo Autograph cards transfer 1:2 to Choice Privileges, so if your ultimate goal is Choice points, you might be better off with a card like the Autograph Journey given that the welcome bonus on a card like that would yield far more Choice Privileges points at the 1:2 transfer ratio.

Quick Thoughts

Again, the specific offers are targeted. I didn’t have anything particularly interesting in my account apart from 20% back on Point Redemptions in Las Vegas, though that’s typically only valuable on weekends or during special events.

My wife’s offer of 2,000 bonus points for every two-night stay is one that would work out really well if we had stays during the qualifying period where we needed at least two rooms. However, since we don’t, we probably wouldn’t be booking in her name as we’d want to have my high Globalist benefits. We probably won’t be taking advantage of this one, but if you’re in a position to do so, it could work out really well.

If my wife were able to book a Category 1 off-peak property for 20 nights, it would cost her 60,000 points, and she’d receive 20,000 points back. The net cost for 20 nights would be 40,000 points. At a net cost of just 2,000 points per elite qualifying night, that could certainly be a decent deal in some circumstances.

Quick Thoughts

Many of the included merchants can often be found with portal rates of 10% back or more, though some of them less often than others. If you’re a regular shopper at one of those stores, it might be worth it to you to always have access to at least 10% back. I can imagine that if someone is a big Hotels.com user, knowing that they could always count on the 10% back rate might be useful.

On the flip side, we sometimes see rates climb above 10% for all of the included merchants, and I’ve seen rates significantly better via Capital One Shopping numerous times for sites like Hotels.com and Viator, along with a number of the other merchants. I’d have a hard time imagining that it would be worth it to pay $100 per year for this, but it might work out if you have an imminent purchase to make. If 10% back via Rakuten+ would be significantly better than your next best option, it would probably be worth signing up and spending your $250+ to get $50 back plus 10% back of your large purchase.

The trouble here is that you can’t just join, but rather you need to join the waitlist. I have no idea how long it takes to clear the waitlist, so you might not be able to join it with an imminent purchase to make after all.

As noted at the top, we see targeted offers good for 50% back or more a few times each year. I’ve personally booked through Viator for deals at that level or higher. Earning 25X miles or 45% back might not quite be enough to make me actively look for an opportunity to use the offer, but if you have a need to book something and/or highly value the miles, today could certainly be a day for you to look.

These deals can be a great way of getting rewards through spending at office supply stores. If you can buy 9 at a time, that’s a potential of $1,800 in purchases each day. Quick Thoughts

Update: Having used the app since the beginning of 2025, I now love it. It’s ridiculously convenient having CardPointers auto-load offers, rather than needing to manually click on each one.

Another huge convenience is being able to quickly see which cards have an offer loaded to them for a specific retailer at a glance. My wife and I went to Ikea a couple of times last month to buy some furniture, home goods, etc. I’d noticed that there was an Ikea Chase Offer and knew that we’d be spending enough to spread the cost across multiple cards in order to earn several statement credits. Rather than having to log in to both of our accounts and click through to each of our cards to see if they’d been targeted for it, I was simply able to check the CardPointers app and see which of the cards had it loaded already. Doing that probably only saved me 10-15 minutes, but it removed that tediousness from my life and that’s not the only time I’ve used that functionality.

Below is my original assessment of the app.

I’ve seen CardPointers regularly mentioned in various groups over the last year or two, but had procrastinated on registering myself until recently. Although I set up an account and downloaded the app a week or two ago, I hadn’t gotten around to linking my cards until last night. To be honest, I was initially confused about how to do that as I’d assumed CardPointers would use some kind of service like Plaid in order to do that, but it’s done via its Chrome browser extension. After setting up an account and downloading the extension, simply log in to your account(s) and you should see an option to add the relevant offers. For example, when logging in to my Amex account there was a small box at the bottom showing that offers were being added.

When logging in to Citi, a similar thing happened:

Once offers are loaded to your account, you can view them using either the CardPointers browser extension or app. To view via the browser extension, click the jigsaw icon at the top-right of Chrome and select CardPointers X:

That’ll display a popup with three menu items, the middle of which is ‘Offers’. Clicking on the Offers tab will display all the offers now loaded to your card(s). It defaults to displaying them alphabetically, but over time I imagine it’ll be more convenient to sort them by date added to more easily see what’s new.

In the app, there’s an ‘Offers’ menu button at the bottom which does a similar thing. In the app you can also filter by category (e.g. airline offers, hotel offers, restaurant offers, etc.). Both the extension and app have search functionality too, so if there’s a specific offer you’re interested in, that’s an easy way to see if any of your cards were targeted.

Seeing as I’m so new to the app, I can’t speak to many quirks that it might have. However, I have seen people mention before that you need to verify that your card does actually have an offer loaded to it before trying to redeem it, rather than solely relying on the CardPointers app or browser extension stating it is.

It’s also worth verifying the full details of an offer yourself. When acquainting myself with the app last night, I noticed that the browser extension stated that an Anthropologie Amex Offer was giving 20% back on $25+ purchases with a limit of up to $5 back. I’d tried to use this Amex Offer a week or two ago and so knew that was incorrect – the offer was valid on up to $125 of spend (i.e. up to $25 back).

The app meanwhile did display the correct details:

The CardPointers browser extension also reminds you if you have a money-saving opportunity on one or more of your cards, although once again you’ll want to verify the offer details. For example, when playing Wordle last night it let me know that I could save by using my Schwab Platinum card. That’s presumably courtesy of the Digital Entertainment Credit which is valid on New York Times subscriptions (Wordle is owned by the New York Times), although the text box stated I could save 2% on the purchase which initially seemed like it wasn’t correct.

n.b. If you don’t want to see this kind of popup for any given retailer, you can click the X in the top-right corner of the purple box and select that you don’t want to see the popup anymore for that retailer, or you can just snooze it for a while.

I thought that perhaps that display was a little goofy due to it being a Digital Entertainment Credit rather than an Amex Offer. I therefore tested it out with Anthropologie, but that displayed a 2% offer too.

However, at the bottom of that box it has a prompt to ‘Show Other Offers’. If you click on that, it’ll display other related offers like the Digital Entertainment Credit for the New York Times and the Amex Offer for Anthropologie.

Overall though, CardPointers looks like it’s an extremely useful tool which you might find comes with some unexpected benefits, especially if you like to utilize and maximize Amex Offers. Although $63 per year or $196 for a lifetime subscription (or cheaper when there are additional sales available) might sound expensive as a new user, I’ve heard enough about it to know that it could certainly save you significantly more money than that over time. I’m therefore looking forward to finally getting around to using it myself.

We value Hilton points at ~.4 cents each, so the 2,000 bonus points you’ll earn net you ~$8 in redemption value, or a whopping ~$2.66 per night if it’s a three-night stay (although it’s a better deal on one- or two-night stays).

I honestly don’t remember the last time that we wrote about a hotel promotion with so little return, and I quite literally laughed out loud when I read the terms (after I double-checked them to make sure I wasn’t misunderstanding).

There’s absolutely no reason that anyone, anywhere, should arrange their plans in order to take advantage of this promo. If you are already planning to stay with Hilton this Summer, or if you think there’s a chance you will, then you might as well register.

Quick Thoughts

Personally, both my wife and I were targeted for 40% off, up to $40 off this time, which is a deal we’ll certainly use since we shop at Amazon all the time. While the terms indicate that this deal cannot be used in conjunction with other deals, it should stack with sale pricing, and will stack with the current round of Amazon Amex offers.

It’s worth hitting the “activate” button sooner rather than later since you never know when the deal might get pulled.

The password is working for stays from 5/22/26 to 8/29/26. The specific “treat” differs from property to property, and even the same hotel might offer different surprises depending on when you visit. They can be anything from free f&b credits/drinks (the most common), free parking, room upgrades, free breakfast, or worst of all, little tchotchkes.

Stephen stayed at a Kimpton property a while back, and the password earned him a $30 food-and-beverage credit. It looks like he put it to good use.

Quick Thoughts

This is better than the standard checking account offer Wells Fargo has had out for a couple of years, which it keeps extending. You get an extra $75 for the effort, and the direct deposit requirement has again decreased to $1,000 from $3,000.

Wells Fargo has a broad definition of “direct deposits,” including ACH transfers from many banks. When I did this a couple of years ago, I just scheduled an ACH from my local credit union (BECU).

The terms require the account to remain open until the 90-day qualification period ends, so it’s important to understand the requirements to avoid the $10 monthly fee. You could schedule a monthly $500 ACH deposit into the account and then transfer most of it back out to keep the account free, or just leave $1,500 in the account. There’s no early termination fee if you close the account. Still, with Wells Fargo, it’s generally considered best practice to leave it open for at least a few months to avoid getting blacklisted from future bonuses.

Rove has a knack for keeping an eye on what’s happening in points and miles and then piggybacking on top. In this case, since Chase is giving an incredible 10 bonus points per dollar when checking out via Paze, Rove is offering its own incentive to click through its shopping portal before completing your transaction with Paze and your eligible card.

For instance, if you were to click through Rove and then pay for a StubHub purchase with your eligible Sapphire or Freedom card, you would earn 9x Rove Miles and 10x Ultimate Rewards points in addition to the normal earning on your credit card, for a total of ~20x. That’s a great return, especially since it’s all transferable points.

Rove currently has 19 different travel partners, so the Rove earning rate is, for many people, more valuable than earning the equivalent cash back. If you’re making a first-time hotel booking through Rove, it’s worth noting that you earn miles on taxes and fees as well as the base room rate, though mandatory hotel fees charged at check-in won’t qualify.

Hotels listed as being ‘loyalty-eligible’ on Rove’s travel booking portal will earn you points in your hotel’s loyalty program in addition to the Rove miles you earn. You’ll also be eligible to receive elite status benefits, earn elite night credits, etc. Loyalty-eligible stays are billed by the hotel directly, meaning that you can pay with that hotel chain’s credit card to earn bonus points on the paid stay while triggering Amex Offers, Chase Offers, etc.

Nick once did a Bluegreen Vacations timeshare presentation and felt great about it. The presentations themselves are lengthy, but if you can get your “no” face on and use travel to one of the included locations, this could be a pretty good deal.

Quick Thoughts

Hilton Grand Vacations periodically introduces variations on this basic offer. This particular one is applicable to fewer locations than usual; six in total, including options in Florida, South Carolina, Nevada, and New York City. Depending on when you stay, the cash cost for many of the lodging options would be an excellent deal… and that’s before considering the points.

In exchange for agreeing to attend a 2-hour timeshare presentation, you get 2-3 nights’ lodging and 100,000 Hilton Honors Points for $199-$299+tax (and an additional $19.95 for changes made up to 7 days prior to arrival). You buy the package now and then have 12 months from the date of purchase to use it. Note that the points will not post until after you travel, so you won’t get them instantly.

Our reasonable redemption value for Hilton Honors Points is .41 cents per point, so you’re getting around $400 in value from the points alone. Throw in several nights’ lodging and the deal gets interesting, especially if you already need to travel to one of the included destinations.

Timeshare presentations are notorious for being somewhat exhausting affairs. To prepare, it’s probably helpful to read Stephen Pepper’s Timeshare Presentation Survival Guide: Get your “No” face on.

As you can see above, 25X is only valid on transactions less than $500. A transaction of $500 might be eligible seeing as it refers to orders that are over $500, but I’d be inclined to stay a little under $500 to play it safe.

Buying more than eight of the same item in the same transaction also isn’t valid, so if CVS has some kind of great deal on household supplies, groceries, medicine, etc., it’d be worth purchasing in two or more transactions if you want a substantial number of the same item.

One of the most disappointing exclusions is the one stating that the 25X rate isn’t eligible for purchases of gift cards. I’m not sure how strictly that’s enforced, but if you’re planning on buying one or more gift cards in-store, it might be worth adding at least one filler item to ensure that the transaction isn’t for an amount that might be flagged as a possible gift card purchase (e.g. exactly $250 or $450).

This offer should, in theory, be eligible on a seemingly unlimited number of transactions that are below $500. The terms refer to a limit of three card-linked activations, but that’s because Capital One only allows you to have three card-linked offers loaded to any given Capital One card at any one time; it’s not referring to a transaction limit. With different card-linked in-store Capital One Offers in the past, it’s been possible to use the same offer over and over again, so I suspect that’ll be the case here. It’ll be worth taking a screenshot of the offer for your card(s) though in case you need to reach out to Capital One in the event of multiple transactions not crediting, pointing to the fact that no limit was stated.

If you’re not familiar with Capital One Offers, it’s a shopping portal that’s only available for those who have a Capital One card. When logging in to your account, scroll down to the section where it says ‘Activate shopping offers.’ Click on ‘View all offers’ and you should see CVS listed in there. You’ll need to activate the offer on your card(s) before making a purchase in-store. You’ll earn the rewards in miles if you have a miles-earning card. If you only have Capital One cards that earn cashback, your rewards will be earned in cashback.

The 25X seems to be targeted; other people are targeted for 15X, while there might be different rates floating around too.

It turns out that Turkish refreshed the card last year and added some perks, but we hadn’t realized until now. While it’s still far from a compelling card, its new perks and ability to spend towards status might make it worth a second look for a small subset of people.

Quick Thoughts

As you can see above, the welcome offer on the card is still incredibly poor. Earning 25K miles after spending $2K within 90 days, then an additional 15K miles after $6K more spend in the first year simply doesn’t cut the mustard biber salçası.

The reason for this post though is to highlight the card’s new(ish) features. Based on the Wayback Machine, it looks like these were added back in May 2025, but to no fanfare and so we’d not noticed the card enhancements until now.

The card’s new features are:

• Turkish Airlines lounge access worldwide when flying Turkish
• Priority check-in and boarding for all flights to and from the US
• 125 Status Miles for every $500 spent on the card per billing cycle, capped at 5,000 Status Miles per calendar year

There are a few things to be aware for each of the benefits.

Lounge access

With the lounge access, it’s only valid for the primary cardholder—it doesn’t look like it comes with any guesting privileges. It’s also only valid when flying on Turkish metal; seeing as you’d get lounge access on a business class ticket anyway, it’s effectively only a useful benefit if you’re flying in economy.

Priority check-in & boarding

This benefit is valid for all flights to and from the US, but not Turkish flights to other destinations. To use it, you have to present your card along with your boarding pass. The terms and conditions don’t actually state to whom you present the card, but I’m assuming the gate agent seeing as it would be presented with your boarding pass. That said, it might be worth providing it at a check-in desk—especially seeing as you get priority check-in—so that your boarding group can hopefully be updated on your boarding pass, rather than relying on a gate agent knowing you’re entitled to early boarding when flashing your Turkish credit card at them.

Unlike the lounge benefit which isn’t extended to traveling companions, priority check-in and boarding is extended to family members (defined as your spouse and/or children under the age of 25) who are travelling on the same PNR (Passenger Name Record) as you. Alternatively, one non-family member travelling on the same PNR as you can receive these benefits.

Earning Status Miles on spend

You’ll earn 125 Status Miles for every $500 you spend in a billing cycle. That amount is capped at 5,000 Status Miles per calendar—not cardholder—year. That means you’d max out the Status Miles earning potential after spending $20,000 in a calendar year.

That’s surprisingly ungenerous. The lowest level of elite status in the Turkish Miles&Smiles program requires 25,000 Status Miles, so spending $20,000 on the card in a calendar year would only get you 20% of the way to that low level status. That’s therefore not going to be worth it unless you’re crediting a bunch of flights to Turkish and using spend to top up your Status Miles.

Final Thoughts

The Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles Premier Visa Signature® credit card still isn’t interesting for the vast majority of people, but it became a little less uninteresting for people who fly Turkish in economy and/or who want to have the ability to spend towards Miles&Smiles status.
