Quick Thoughts

The Amex Offer is valid on any Groupon purchases, not just MGM Resorts gift cards. I wanted to highlight that as an option though seeing as Groupon sells $50 denominations for $50. That’s not worth it ordinarily, but saving 20% on a $50 gift card makes it a good deal.

Groupon lets you add five cards to your cart, so hopefully you can buy one gift card to trigger the Amex Offer statement credit on one card, then buy up to four more if you have the Amex Offer on any other household cards.

A word of caution though. When this Amex Offer launched a couple of weeks ago, quite a few people bought discounted Krispy Kreme gift cards from Groupon as you could buy $25 cards for $20. Buying $75 of those for $60 therefore cost a net $50 after the $10 statement credit from the Amex Offer for a total discount of 33.3%. I didn’t follow people’s travails too closely, but my understanding is that many of the Krispy Kreme gift cards isued by Groupon were ones that they’d sold in the past and had since been redeemed, so people had the hassle of either getting newly-issued cards or a refund for their purchase(s). That’s hopefully not going to be the case with MGM Resorts gift cards, but after buying one it might be best to balance check it before buying more.

Gift card purchases from Groupon have tracked on shopping portals in the past, so hopefully purchases of these MGM Resorts gift cards will also track in order to earn additional rewards.

Shopping portal Rakuten is offering cash-back bonuses for those who open select credit cards through its portal. These bonuses are offered by Rakuten on top of the introductory cardholder bonuses from the respective banks. We are currently seeing boosted rates of up to $125 back, which could alternatively become 12,500 Bilt points for Bilt elite members who choose to earn Bilt points if you’re approved for a specific Bank of America credit card.

This isn’t as good as the recent high offers of up to $300 that we saw in the past. However, it’s nonetheless good to see offers continuing to roll in via Rakuten.

Quick Thoughts

If you have one of these cards in mind, these bonuses can be a terrific deal, although it might be possible to do better via referrals.

In the past, Bank of America didn’t offer rewards to existing cardholders for referring others to new cards. That recently changed on a targeted basis, so you might be able to earn $100 cashback by referring your partner (or vice versa). On the Chase side, if you have a household member who can refer you, check for a referral offer, as it might make more sense to use your household member’s referral link. Either way, stacking additional cash back or Bilt points on top of one of these welcome offers can be a really nice enhancement.

Keep in mind that these offers can and do change frequently. We don’t know how long these offers will last, nor if they’ll increase or decrease in the coming days.

Perhaps the most welcome one for many people will be the return of Walmart as an option, although not everyone is seeing that. You can also redeem your shopping portal rewards for Atlantis Bahamas gift cards which could come in handy if you’re planning a stay there. I’m not sure if it’s been an option for a while, but another travel-related option is Seaworld/Busch Gardens gift cards.

I (Stephen) am no longer seeing Apple, Hotels.com, nor Best Western as redemption options on my account, but they might well still appear on yours.

Capital One Shopping, the public shopping portal, has added some very interesting gift card redemption options, including Apple and Princess Cruises. Note that we sometimes see gift card redemption options come and go. For instance, though I’ve had Best Western available in my account for a long time, Stephen reported this morning that Best Western and eBay showed up in his account for the first time in a while. I’ve consistently had options that I frequently use, like Hotels.com and Marriott gift cards, but there are lots of other useful options that have been added in the last few days.

The Deal

• Capital One Shopping has added many new gift card redemptions on the site today, including Apple gift cards, Princess Cruises gift cards, and more.

Quick Thoughts

As a reminder, Capital One Shopping is a publicly available shopping portal. You do not need a Capital One account of any sort to use Capital One Shopping. However, the rewards earned through Capital One Shopping can only be redeemed for gift cards. The options available for gift card redemption change over time, though I’ve noticed that the options in my account have mostly stabilized over the last year, with some minor ebb and flow in availability. The brands I care most about, including Hotels.com and Marriott.com, have been available in my account for at least a year if I recall correctly. However, when I saw Apple available as a gift card redemption option over the weekend, I knew that would be of great interest to those readers who have built up a sizable amount of Capital One Shopping rewards.

I see numerous other options newly available in my account today, including Princess Cruises. I’ve not seen that particular option before. I also see many lesser-value brands.

Keep in mind that many merchant gift cards can be purchased at a discount through various channels now and then. That said, I’m happy to see a wider range of gift card redemption options, as that makes it increasingly likely that you’ll find a good option for you through your Capital One Shopping account.

It’s worth mentioning that some users seem to have a lot of difficulty with Capital One Shopping offers tracking properly. I’ve had great success with the portal, earning five figures worth of cash back in my account alone. I continue using it frequently, and I’m glad to see more gift card redemption options for those of us who are finding success with it.

Quick Thoughts

If you haven’t ever booked a hotel through Delta Cars & Stays, earning 5X miles—increased from the usual 2X you’ll earn—is a decent return. It’ll be regarded as a booking through an Online Travel Agency (OTA) though, so you won’t earn hotel points, receive elite status benefits, etc. This will therefore make the most sense if you have a Delta Stays credit to use up on an eligible Delta credit card, or if you also want to earn MQDs on the stay.

Speaking of which, earning MQDs is another of the three limited time promotions. You don’t normally earn MQDs towards SkyMiles status, but Delta Cars & Stays does occasionally run these promotions for a short period whereby you can earn 1X MQDs on both hotel stays and car rentals. That’ll also stack with Delta Stays credits on Delta credit cards, along with the 5X first booking offer above. While the 5X offer is only valid on hotel stays, the 1X MQDs offer is valid on both hotel stays and car rentals.

Last, and most certainly least, is the ability to save 15% when redeeming SkyMiles towards hotel bookings and car rentals. That’s very poor value ordinarily and it’s still poor value even with the 15% discount. For the hotel bookings I was looking at, I was seeing values of 0.82-0.95 cents per point of value by redeeming miles—even with the discount—so that’s not at all worth it. That said, it might be worth double checking pricing for any stays or rentals you’re interested in; because I was seeing a range of values, perhaps there are some bookings you can make that’ll give solid enough value when redeeming SkyMiles.

Quick Thoughts

6% cashback isn’t a particularly high earning rate as far as normal Capital One Shopping deals of the day go, but it’s still a pretty good return considering the low rewards usually on offer from shopping portals for purchases from Apple. Some people are only seeing 3% cashback, but you might see higher targeted offers appear via email throughout the day, so keep an eye on your inbox.

If you have a Capital One credit card, be sure to also check Capital One Offers—the shopping portal that’s only available for Capital One cardholders. I’m seeing 9X miles which is on top of the rewards you’d earn on whichever card you pay with. Note that even though you have to be a Capital One cardholder to have access to Capital One Offers, you don’t actually have to pay with it when making a purchase after clicking through from Capital One Offers; you can pay with a card issued by any bank.

If you’re new to Capital One Offers, you can find it when logging in to your Capital One account. Scroll down to the section where it says ‘Activate shopping offers’; click on ‘View all offers’ and on the next screen near the top you should see your Apple rate.

Quick Thoughts

Airline shopping portal promotions generally award bonuses that are worth an effective 2X-5X on your spend, but usually on the lower end of that range. This new offer through the Southwest portal is therefore notable due to how generous it is. Earning an effective 10X Rapid Rewards points per dollar on $200 of spend is an excellent return that could make it very much worthwhile clicking through for your next online purchase(s).

It’s helpful that this promo is running for two full weeks as well, thereby making it even easier to hit the $200 spending threshold.

Gift cards are listed as being as excluded, but purchases from Giftcards.com are eligible.

Quick Thoughts

This is a useful little offer seeing as the spending requirement is so low. In fact, the $100 spending threshold is so low that at many Wyndham properties you’d need to stay two nights in order to reach it.

There’s a separate Wyndham Amex Offer that’s valid for their luxury properties and gives $100 back on $500 spend. I suspect the two Amex Offers won’t stack due to the participating properties with this new offer not being luxury hotels, but perhaps you’ll get lucky and be able to stack the two offers if you have them on the same card.

You can find the full list of participating hotels here. There are almost 3,500 hotels in the US and Canada at which you can redeem this offer, so it shouldn’t be too hard to find an eligible location.

If you have this offer on more than one card in your household and your stay comes to $200+, you can ask the hotel to split the payment across two or more cards in order to earn multiple statement credits.

Don’t forget that Wyndham is now on some shopping portals, so you can earn rewards when booking your stay.

While 15% isn’t an earth-shattering bonus percentage, it can nonetheless be quite useful. Avianca devalued awards a couple of times last year, but a number of best uses remain.

This promotion could be particularly useful for anyone who subscribes to Lifemiles+ since Lifemiles+ members receive a 10% discount on all award tickets. That is true even at the $20 monthly “Lite” subscription level (note that you need the $50 monthly “Basic” subscription or above to get free changes and cancellations). A 15% transfer bonus, combined with a 10% discount on the cost of awards

For instance, some routes to Europe can be booked in business class for 69,000 miles one-way. With a 15% transfer bonus, you would only need to transfer 60,000 Amex points to end up with the 69K miles you need for those routes. If you are a LifeMiles+ subscriber, a flight that ordinarily costs 69,000 miles in business class would cost you 62,100 miles. With a 15% transfer bonus, that means that you would only need to transfer 54,000 Amex Membership Rewards points to book a one-way business class to Europe. That could be a really good deal.

We always recommend keeping points transferable until you need to make a booking, rather than speculatively transferring them. That is particularly important for Avianca Lifemiles, given that Lifemiles expire after just 12 months of inactivity unless you are a Lifemiles+ subscriber.

Quick Thoughts

Getting $30 back on $150 or more represents a savings of 20% if you are able to make a booking that costs exactly $150. It is important to note that the terms indicate that you need to go to a specific URL in order to trigger the offer. With past similar offers, I don’t think it’s actually been necessary to go to that URL. Typically, a card-linked offer like this will probably be triggered even after clicking through from a shopping portal, though there is some risk that your offer may not trigger if you don’t use the specialized URL. I would probably recommend using this on a prepaid but flexible booking that you can cancel if it doesn’t trigger the offer.

Speaking of portals, we sometimes see great shopping portal rates from Capital One Shopping. Earlier this morning, I got a targeted email offer for 5% back at Priceline from Capital One Shopping, but I have seen offers significantly better for Priceline at times, so it’s worth keeping your eye on your emails for those targeted Capital One Shopping offers. Again, I can’t guarantee they’ll stack with the offer since the offer does include a URL.

Keep in mind that Priceline does offer a Best Price Guarantee, so if you do find a better price elsewhere, it is possible that you could still get a match and also take advantage of this Amex Offer.

The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card has long been widely regarded as one of the best starter travel rewards credit cards in the hobby. That’s because of the flat 2x it offers on all travel, excellent travel protections, and a couple of other useful bonus categories.

The card has now been refreshed by bumping up its annual hotel credit, adding a credit for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck, or Nexus, and adding a couple of useful new bonus categories (read Greg’s take on those changes here). That’s all great news, and I think it will make this card a fantastic fit for most newcomers to this hobby (and still an excellent fit for many people who are long-term rewards credit card enthusiasts).

The biggest negative change that comes with today’s refresh is that transfers from Chase Ultimate Rewards to World of Hyatt are now only 4:3 for new Chase Sapphire Preferred cardholders (down from 1:1), so you’ll now need to transfer 4 Ultimate Rewards points to get 3 World of Hyatt points. This new transfer ratio applies to those who apply from today (6/15/26) onward. Those who had their cards open prior to June 15, 2026, will maintain a 1:1 transfer ratio until October 1, 2026, when the transfer ratio will become 4:3 for all Sapphire Preferred cardholders.

Overall, the Chase Sapphire Preferred remains a great card for the $95 annual fee price tag. It has been more than a year since the last time we saw this card have an offer worth 100,000 points, so if you’ve been interested in the Sapphire Preferred, now is probably a great time to consider it. I should add that we did see a very brief window last year where it was possible to earn additional bonus points from Rakuten by clicking through to apply for the Sapphire Preferred card. That was a long-expired offer, and it only lasted for a couple of days, but if you’re still on the fence about this card, you might want to keep an eye out to see if anything like that comes back.

I imagine that will make Paze wildly more popular because not only do you have the opportunity to potentially earn additional points per dollar on select cards, but you have the opportunity to get $100 back on a wide range of cards that you probably already have in your wallet.

Paze is a payment platform similar to PayPal. At select merchants, during the checkout process, you’ll see Paze as a payment method option. Only a limited number of merchants accept Paze so far, but with Paze coming from the same company behind Zelle, that will likely continue to expand. Some sites like Newegg accept Paze and sell many third-party gift cards, which could certainly make this useful. In fact, Dan’s Deals has identified a range of merchants for whom it is possible to purchase $10 gift cards, which will surely make this promotion very useful for folks who don’t mind dealing with numerous small-denomination gift cards. I expect that some of those $10 gift cards may sell out sooner rather than later, so if you’re interested in taking advantage of this, it’s probably worth considering that list while you can. I also imagine that loading your Dunkin’ account in the Dunkin’ app should work if you’re able to check out with Paze, though I haven’t checked to see if that’s possible in my app.

I did see the $10 back on $10 reflected when using Paze to check out at Newegg just now (I bought a $10 Uber gift card).

In an email from a marketing representative, City Experiences was highlighted as a participating merchant. I hadn’t heard of City Experiences before, but it appears to be a tour booking website (think Viator, but with a website that looks much less modern). Unfortunately, it seems to only be available in select cities; however, there are experiences that start at just over $10. It’s certainly possible that you’ll find something relatively inexpensive to do if you need additional ideas for using credits.

Overall, this certainly seems like quite an incentive to give the Paze payment platform a try. I tend to avoid most third-party digital wallets, particularly because there are times when they interfere with card-linked offers. However, I’ll certainly be checking Paze out now.

The ordinary transfer ratio from Citi Thank You Rewards to all Accor is 2:1. That is to say that you ordinarily need to transfer two Citi Thank You Points to receive one Accor point. With this transfer bonus, the ratio is effectively 2:1.5. That can be a solid deal because every Accor point is worth 2 Euro cents. With the current exchange rate, that means each Accor point is worth about 2.3 US cents. A 50% transfer ratio means that for every two Citi Thank You Points, you’re receiving about 3.45 US cents (or about 1.725 US cents per Citi Thank You Point). That’s an excellent value toward lodging particularly when you consider the fact that Accor points work in a revenue-based fashion.

You can either use points toward your room rate at the time of booking, or you can use points at checkout to erase charges, including your room and other incidentals charged to your room, like meals, spa charges, etc. That makes Accor points quite useful, particularly for those who want to book specific upgraded room types and/or anticipate having significant room charges that they would like to erase with points at a good value. Accor can also be great for its family rate plans, whereby at some properties you can book a second room for 50% of the cost of the first room. While it is certainly possible to transfer points to Citi’s airline partners and get even more value, Accor, particularly with this transfer bonus, represents a rare chance to get excellent value for lodging.

Keep in mind that while Accor has a very limited footprint in the United States, it has quite a strong footprint overseas. That’s particularly true in Europe but also in other regions around the world.

Update: Having used the app since the beginning of 2025, I now love it. It’s ridiculously convenient having CardPointers auto-load offers, rather than needing to manually click on each one.

Another huge convenience is being able to quickly see which cards have an offer loaded to them for a specific retailer at a glance. My wife and I went to Ikea a couple of times last month to buy some furniture, home goods, etc. I’d noticed that there was an Ikea Chase Offer and knew that we’d be spending enough to spread the cost across multiple cards in order to earn several statement credits. Rather than having to log in to both of our accounts and click through to each of our cards to see if they’d been targeted for it, I was simply able to check the CardPointers app and see which of the cards had it loaded already. Doing that probably only saved me 10-15 minutes, but it removed that tediousness from my life and that’s not the only time I’ve used that functionality.

Below is my original assessment of the app.

I’ve seen CardPointers regularly mentioned in various groups over the last year or two, but had procrastinated on registering myself until recently. Although I set up an account and downloaded the app a week or two ago, I hadn’t gotten around to linking my cards until last night. To be honest, I was initially confused about how to do that as I’d assumed CardPointers would use some kind of service like Plaid in order to do that, but it’s done via its Chrome browser extension. After setting up an account and downloading the extension, simply log in to your account(s) and you should see an option to add the relevant offers. For example, when logging in to my Amex account there was a small box at the bottom showing that offers were being added.

When logging in to Citi, a similar thing happened:

Once offers are loaded to your account, you can view them using either the CardPointers browser extension or app. To view via the browser extension, click the jigsaw icon at the top-right of Chrome and select CardPointers X:

That’ll display a popup with three menu items, the middle of which is ‘Offers’. Clicking on the Offers tab will display all the offers now loaded to your card(s). It defaults to displaying them alphabetically, but over time I imagine it’ll be more convenient to sort them by date added to more easily see what’s new.

In the app, there’s an ‘Offers’ menu button at the bottom which does a similar thing. In the app you can also filter by category (e.g. airline offers, hotel offers, restaurant offers, etc.). Both the extension and app have search functionality too, so if there’s a specific offer you’re interested in, that’s an easy way to see if any of your cards were targeted.

Seeing as I’m so new to the app, I can’t speak to many quirks that it might have. However, I have seen people mention before that you need to verify that your card does actually have an offer loaded to it before trying to redeem it, rather than solely relying on the CardPointers app or browser extension stating it is.

It’s also worth verifying the full details of an offer yourself. When acquainting myself with the app last night, I noticed that the browser extension stated that an Anthropologie Amex Offer was giving 20% back on $25+ purchases with a limit of up to $5 back. I’d tried to use this Amex Offer a week or two ago and so knew that was incorrect – the offer was valid on up to $125 of spend (i.e. up to $25 back).

The app meanwhile did display the correct details:

The CardPointers browser extension also reminds you if you have a money-saving opportunity on one or more of your cards, although once again you’ll want to verify the offer details. For example, when playing Wordle last night it let me know that I could save by using my Schwab Platinum card. That’s presumably courtesy of the Digital Entertainment Credit which is valid on New York Times subscriptions (Wordle is owned by the New York Times), although the text box stated I could save 2% on the purchase which initially seemed like it wasn’t correct.

n.b. If you don’t want to see this kind of popup for any given retailer, you can click the X in the top-right corner of the purple box and select that you don’t want to see the popup anymore for that retailer, or you can just snooze it for a while.

I thought that perhaps that display was a little goofy due to it being a Digital Entertainment Credit rather than an Amex Offer. I therefore tested it out with Anthropologie, but that displayed a 2% offer too.

However, at the bottom of that box it has a prompt to ‘Show Other Offers’. If you click on that, it’ll display other related offers like the Digital Entertainment Credit for the New York Times and the Amex Offer for Anthropologie.

Overall though, CardPointers looks like it’s an extremely useful tool which you might find comes with some unexpected benefits, especially if you like to utilize and maximize Amex Offers. Although $63 per year or $196 for a lifetime subscription (or cheaper when there are additional sales available) might sound expensive as a new user, I’ve heard enough about it to know that it could certainly save you significantly more money than that over time. I’m therefore looking forward to finally getting around to using it myself.

As always with these deals, the best option is to buy in three-card increments as Office Depot/Max gives a $15 discount for every $300 you spend. Buying three cards means you’re spending $600, which takes off $30. Buying nine cards means you should get $90 off, but YMMV as to whether a store will let you do that.

For every three cards you buy, you’ll pay $23.85 in fees (3x$7.95), giving you a net $6.15 in profit in addition to any additional rewards. Buying nine cards at a time triples both the profit and rewards (but will likely involve an ID check to make sure that the payment that you’re using is yours).

In addition, it’s worth keeping an eye out for linked offers that might stack.

A quick word of warning: in the past, US Bank has sometimes only awarded double points on purchases that post during the promotional period. Because of this, I’d be hesitant to make any purchases on June 26th and expect to get the bonus, since it may not post until the next day. That said, the last time this promo ran in June, several people were awarded double points on purchases that posted after the promo period ended.

Note also that the additional points will be credited 6 to 8 weeks after June 26th, so don’t be surprised if you don’t see them until December or January. That makes this a bit of a gamble, since it’ll be a long time before you know how it turns out, and it will probably be a pain to track, especially if you use multiple offers.

While it’s better than a kick in the pants, this promotion isn’t rewarding enough to make it worth specifically booking Southwest over another airline if you have to fly in the next few months. However, it’s certainly worth registering before booking any Southwest flights, or possibly rebooking if you already have travel planned.

While this promo is good for flights through November 18th, you must register for it and book the flights by Monday, June 15th. Also, bonus points do not count towards A-List or Companion Pass qualification.

Reservations made before registering for this promotion are excluded from earning double points, and you can cancel previously booked flights for free. So, if you have any existing reservations, it’s worth checking their pricing to see whether it’s the same or has gone down.

Quick Thoughts

While it is a decent bonus, note that it’s comparable to the current offers from the United and Alaska portals. In fact, United gives you even more miles per dollar (3x vs 2.5x). If you’re just looking to maximize rewards, those could be better options.

Don’t forget that the American portal has a relatively new card-linked in-store feature, with that spend counting towards the spending threshold in addition to online purchases.

Quick Thoughts

Medallion Qualification Dollars are the method in which you can earn elite status in the Delta SkyMiles program. You ordinarily earn 1 MQD per dollar spent on base fare and carrier-imposed surcharges, so after enrolling in this promotion—if you’re targeted—you’ll effectively be earning 1.2 MQDs per dollar when booking Extra seats. Those seats come at a premium to some other seating options, so you’ll need to do your own calculations as to whether the additional MQDs you’ll earn will be worth the additional cost.

What might make it a little more worthwhile is that this 20% bonus MQDs promotion should stack with this separate promotion that’s offering up to $80 in Uber credits. That other Delta/Uber promo is valid on flights in Comfort Classic or Comfort Extra, so you’d need to book in Comfort Extra in order to be eligible for both of these offers.

Best Uses for Hilton Points

• 5th night free. Use points to book 5 nights for the price of 4. This benefit is valid on longer stays, so if staying 10 nights you’ll get both the 5th and 10th nights free. Hilton status is required to take advantage of this benefit, but you can get that with the no annual fee Hilton credit card.
• Save money on low category hotels. Hilton hotel awards start at 5,000 points per night, but those can be very difficult to find. 10,000 and 15,000 point properties are more common.  These would cost $50 or $75 when booked with purchased points or less if using the 5th night free benefit.
• Stay at high-end properties for less. Most of Hilton’s top-tier properties top out at 150,000 points per night for a standard room, although some go as high as 250,000 points. With this promotion, 150,000 points would cost you $750, which isn’t cheap, but it is less than the cash rate at many properties charging that many points.
• Pool points with up to 10 other members. Hilton allows members to create a pool with up to 10 people to share points back and forth. This makes the effective purchase limit much higher when combining forces with other members.

Things to Know About Hilton Points

• When you book nights with points, you will not earn points for the stay unless Hilton is running a promotion that awards bonus points per night/stay which includes award nights.
• Most hotel taxes are not charged on award stays, so this can make the value of buying points even better. Arguably, this factor and the one above roughly cancel each other out.
• Resort and destination fees are waived on award stays. This alone can make it worthwhile to use points instead of cash for your bookings.

TopCashback is running a flash promotion that’s boosting your shopping portal earnings by 2% when cashing out to your Venmo account. You’ll have to be quick though because this limited time increase ends on June 12 at 1pm PT.

The Deal

Quick Thoughts

A 2% bonus isn’t a make-or-break deal, but if you have payable shopping portal earnings on TopCashback, you might as well take advantage of the 2% bonus if you’d otherwise just have it sent to your checking account via ACH.

TopCashback does offer higher percentage bonuses for cashing out via alternative methods, such as a 5% bonus when redeeming for a Visa or Amex prepaid debit card. That would obviously get you more money than a 2% bonus, but at least with Venmo there’s less hassle with getting hold of the money as you don’t have to liquidate a gift card.

You’ll have to be quick though because there’s only a couple more days to take advantage of this Venmo offer.
