Rat is going about this Easter Duty thing all wrong. Or, is he? Marcus Aurelius tells us we need to accept that, every day, we will encounter people who are: "nosy, ungrateful, deceitful, arrogant, envious, and unsocial.." But, they are our fellow humans, and we shouldn't be angry with them just because they haven't seen the light. Of course, the Christian theologians disagree. We not only need to accept them; but we have to forgive them and do penance if we fail to do so. I have to say that I am with Rat on this one. It sounds to me like the Church has created the perfect system for controlling everyone's behavior. So, during this Holy Week, I will accept the idiots; but I will do my best to avoid them. https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fenewspaper.tampabay.com%2Finfinity%2Farticle_popover_share.aspx%3Fguid%3D1a3c5757-bc8b-6b73-72e9-accde6903e88%26share%3Dtrue%26fbclid%3DIwAR3IDrUcDloztWR7OlwhqQ0lDMaFIluZ2_ZvS7Tb1Ha2n0nynSOKuO-NUy0_aem_AW5TFd_gPj2s0_JjFL_jbQHIIxrHM3K3Xn42Z7vqirzzQS_fIValz36LAVkJ3_g6WTCjNiEwvCGPPNVSQzv1UhkW&h=AT2DllF-QMARok9I8NMS4jp7-Ihhf2cwOxNAB-8bg7SHcKg9I5CYz0WEq1n1ai243a3Ld9zuUNpJICIXF9i8JjyaHV-IaQx3ViGZMof_92mk7DbJnw6Aco9F6o_Y_2aIJg&__tn__=H-R&c[0]=AT0AdCDuhm5oNx9y6k09A28HAla3FDzef2vZg4o7mA6I32w0la3G9opTUZpJWHKgdu98x0fFwWxIWHqyIWlj_0NZXvp1qeHxtir3BXy1xZF2QVh7FVcUu9Mso3BQJ5VbQSIOEA-LS8vwRzcHADpKrB8Uix0
]]>The work from home craze, as we all know, began as a necessity when COVID 19 hit in 2020. But, it gave me an opportunity to work on my desire to equip an RV with the equipment to allow for law practice on wheels. When I purchased a used RV in 2021, I began to outfit it with an office chair, Starlink Satellite Internet, T-Mobile cellular Internet, a big screen monitor, and various peripherals, such as keyboard, mouse, etc. Now, as I travel around Florida and see the sights on long weekends, I can ply my trade from afar. Note: How I do it, and what software, computers, and other equipment I use, will be described in my upcoming book, "RV Lawyer", which is at the printer as we speak. Unlike the poetry book, you have to buy this one to help me defray expenses. It isn't intended to be an educational treatise. It is just one lawyer's attempt to be able to get away from the office, but still be productive, if I want to be.
]]>My favorite actor, Clint Eastwood, is fond of saying this, and, in his Nineties, still working, it works for him. But, sooner or later, the old man will get in, no matter how much we resist. So, the principal task becomes how to make our mind into a fortress of resistance, as our flesh fails. Marcus Aurelius put it this way:
"You're an old man now. It's time to stop being a slave; to no longer be pulled along like a puppet on strings; to stop being dissatisfied with today and afraid of tomorrow."
Life is a series of challenges, chief among which is the struggle against our baser nature.
"Put away the entertainments, set aside distractions, and look at yourself as you truly are: blood and bones..."
Your mind is the only real thing you have. Don't waste it.

T-Mobile provides great cell service, at a total cost of less than half what I was paying Verizon. Verizon was arrogant and rude with customer service to me, while T-Mobile has been the epitome of customer friendly. Evidence of this is that T-Mobile actively courts fringe benefits for its customers, and free MLBTV is the best of them. I am a baseball fan, and go to, or watch, most Tampa Bay Rays games. The out of market MLBTV plan is perfect for fans like me; but it costs $150 a year. But, T-Mobile offers it free to its customers, if you sign up this week. So, if you are a T-Mobile customer, don't delay. You have a limited time to claim the benefit, and you will be able to watch all out of market games this year, plus a lot more. Thanks, T-Mobile. You had me at great service at a great price. But, MlBTV for free is the icing on the cake.

Turn On Developer Options. What if I told you that you could make yourself into an Android Developer? You can get under the hood of Android and do all sorts of amazing things. While you have to be careful under there, one change you can make is to make your Android phone faster and snappier. Fancy animations make the device slower, and can even make response times sluggish. This article shows you how to turn on Developer Mode, and then adjust the three animation settings. I turned animation off completely and my phone now feels like it has received an energy boost. Simply put, you an go to the About tab in Settings, and tap the Build Number seven times to get into Developer Mode. When you do a Developer Mode button will appear at the end of the Settings Menu. Click it, and scroll all the way down until you see the three Animation delay settings. You can turn them down from 1.0 to .5, or, as I did, turn them off altogether. Zoom, Zoom.
