The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit granted summary judgment to an Oregon electric utility company following allegations from a former employee that it had violated his First Amendment rights when it prevented him from speaking with other witnesses/employees regarding an internal investigation into his alleged misconduct.

Ninth Circuit Judge Milan D. Smith Jr. granted summary judgment to the Springfield Utility Board after determining that the board hadn’t violated former employee Todd Roberts’ First Amendment right by barring him from speaking about the investigation into his alleged misconduct against the board.
