The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit partially reversed the granting of summary judgment to defendants after the estate of a inmate who died in prison brought suit alleging that he died due to their deliberate indifference to his medical needs.

Judge Jane B. Stranch reversed in part and affirmed in part the district court’s granting of summary judgment to defendants on claims brought by inmate Cornelius Pierre Howell’s estate, and remanded for further proceedings, in a May 1 opinion.
